So, what can I say

The cat is glad we are both at home. The bird feeders and birds are happy as well. Bob is napping, then we will go to the doctor this afternoon. I need to check the paperwork he filled out last night. This is for the hematologist--the blood doctor. We have not been before. We hope he will have some answers. It is wonderful to look out the window and see the shining sun. The birds provide a ton of entertainment. There is a cardinal that has "melanism". His color is very dark. Almost black but not quite. We have enough gift cards that we can eat at Subway or Arby's. We may have eggs and sausage for lunch, though, because we ate oatmeal for breakfast. It feels good to be getting back in order.

Good luck with the appointment. It's nice to get back to 'normal'.

Normal seems to change every day, but it is good to be doing those changes together.

@JudyEv One of these days it will be normal again, or we will adjust to this.

This doctor cannot do anything for him as his blood and his clotting factors and his platelets are good. The doctor did a good job of explaining what he found though, so I am satisfied with what he said.

@Courtlynn Yes, no reason to believe he has any kind of cancer causing this, so that is good.

IT is a bright sunshiney day here, but perhaps a bit cold. It's been awhiel since I've looked at the temperature, several hours ago it said 40 degrees. Subway had sunflower crunch bread for awhile, I am not sure if they still have it. Arby's has delicious marketfresh sandwiches as well.I hope the blood doctor has some answers.

The answer is that this is not a blood problem, but a blood vessel problem. Since the hematologist is also an oncologist he was able to explain how the radiation has burned and damaged Bob's blood vessels and made them very fragile. Forty would feel wonderful to me. Especially if there was sun as well. I like the various breads that Subway has but we had a quick meal of just regular Arby's sandwiches and shared some onion rings. We were running late for the appointment.

@GardenGerty Arby's sandwiches are delicious as well and are a nice treat. I like the Beef and Cheddar every once in awhile. Oh I see so his blood vessels are detiorating so to speak? I can not spell that word for the life of me right now. They were burned by the radiation and are scarred and weak?

How is your husband doing? Bob has been having various versions of this bleeding since May. This time was the worst.

GardenGerty Sorry to hear about Bob's problems. My husband's skin is so thin that he bleeds very easily, but the haematoma is well on the way to healing. He has breathing problems from a heart condition and this is making him very weak and tired.

Bob does not have a blood problem, but a blood vessel problem. So the good news is that there is nothing wrong with his blood, clotting factors, etc. He also does not have any blood cancers or any other cancer that we have noted so far. The hematologist is also an oncologist. The problem is from radiation damage and is not likely to get better.

There is nothing like being all toasty warm in your own home. The winds have really picked up here since this morning. Nasty!!

I think he feels better every day. The blood doctor said the problem is not with his blood but is with the blood vessels having been damaged by the radiation. He says he may just periodically have to get transfusions. You know how that feels.

Mostly we are just reassured it is not a blood problem and the tests were done, just in case. The doctor explained his opinion well.

We are spending a lot of time inside this weekend because the weather has turned off nasty. It is supposed to improve tomorrow though.
