New Dishes

Happy Wednesday Everone! It's a sun shiny day here but cold. You know me...starting the day with sunshine and coffee makes me smile.
I got a new set of kitchen dishes for Christmas which I love. It's not that I needed new ones but I guess I complained enough about the ones I had and how tired I was of them.
I'm ready for some changes here.
The new dishes are being washed in the dishwasher but now I have to pack up the old ones and make room in the cabinets for the new ones. Sorting and rearranging is taking more time than I thought.
I wanted to surprise my daughter when we used the new dishes for dinner tonight. But maybe I should have waited for her to help since its a bigger job than I anticipated.
Oh well....
At least dinner is in the crockpot and away from the mess I made.

Ah, sometimes our schemes are grander than we are. We have a mix matched lot of dishes. A LOT of a lot of dishes. There are some that were my great grandmothers, some that were my grandmother's, some that my niece and nephew bought. There are some that were my mother's. There are even some that haven't made their way back to my aunt's house yet.
I hope your daughter will be pleasantly surprised to see that you are using the new dishes.

I'm not sure yet. Either I'm packing them and keeping them in case someone needs them or I'll give them to the thrift store

I remember the last time that I received new dishes as a gift.
I was so happy, and we still use them.
Quite often I will look at them and wonder what they think about my aging face looking down at them.
I hope that your daughter enjoys eating off of the new plates tonight.

I love dishes and would change them frequently if I could but it's not money I need to spend. I almost felt guilty getting new ones when the ones we have are perfectly fine.
