Clint Eastwood requires no introduction. Gorillaz was created by Damon Albam of Blur and comic book artist Jamie Hewlett. At first they were a British virtual band being animated and later became a live performance act. Their hip hop electronic sound is drum and string machines and melodica keyboard. From their self titled album, “Clint Eastwood” was written by Albam, Hewlett and Del the Funky Homosapian who performs the rap part and is the Blue Phantom in the popular animated video. The song reached UK #4 and US #57. What the heck does this song have to do with Clint Eastwood? He is never mentioned. It was supposedly inspired by “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” but the video is all horror images and zombies.
