Ally in 2012, she kept wondering why I was sitting and hitting a funny board LOLOL

I am totally elated. Yesterday I went for a followup about my eye and was told I am healing really well. I was a little concerned at first because I couldn't read the eye chart as I could before my surgery but then when the Doc came in he said it was probably because I need a new pair of glasses. Whew, that's a total rellief Ever since I had this surgery I have wondered what I would have done if I had come out of it totally blind. That to me is one hell of a scary thought. Next week I go to the optometrist to get my prescription for a new pair of glasses. Have you had your eyes checked lately? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's Ally at a year old, what a character.

That is great news, so glad its only new glasses you need now. I need to have mine checked again, I haven't had since my right eye stroked and its time.

Thank you. I'm sorry about your right eye. My right eye has amblyopia which was never corrected so I have very poor vision in it.

Your eye 'stroked'? I haven't heard or read this term yet. What does it mean? I know what a stroke is but not what an eye stroke is.

@rebelann Well thanks, no one would know to look at it but I get a lot of pain in it and still wear the patch from time to time to let it rest. I'm sorry, my sister had that so she will always wear glasses

My surgeon told me I won't need to worry about cataracts yet but he did say that because of the surgery I had I will most likely get them in a year or so.

@rebelann Such a diagnosis is certainly a shock. My husband had that. He was also operated on and all went well. All the best to you!

I cannot blame you with this thought of yours. I would be scared of the concern of eyesight. It was a relief for you, my friend. Have a wonderful day!

She is a character. I'm glad your eyes are good and you need a new prescription for your glasses. I need to get my eyes checked. I also need the money to do so. I hate picking and choosing what I can do with my money.

She sure is. Thank you, I see the optometrist next week and it'll probably take at least 8 business days to get my glasses. I know what you mean, it stinks when you can't get necessary items like glasses.

@rebelann I'm finding I need to think seriously about an eye visit. At least I can get the glasses online and cut the cost down by hundreds of dollars.

Thank you. I am testing out some of my older glasses to see if they function better but so far that hasn't helped at all either. Next thursday I go to the optometrist to get new glasses so I'll know more then.

That's good to hear - I'm so glad all has worked out for your eyes. Eyes are "everything" - I'm sure it was scary to go through the surgery but you braved it - and thankfully it is healing quite well. Um - I've never had my eyes officially checked . . . I know I need to do that .

Glad that your eye surgery was successful We need months here to get a prescription for new glasses : only an ophthalmologist can do it, and they are rare. I have not seen mine since 3 years.

Thank you So France does not have optometrists? The opthamologist I use does not give prescriptions for glasses, he is only concerned with retina disorders.

@rebelann I got floaters in my eye about 4 years ago. When I went for my regular eye exam, my doctor adamantly informed me how dangerous they could be and to get to a hospital if it ever happens again. Who knew?
