2019 Health Journey -- Day 13 (January 13th)

Hello everyone, it is the end of another day so I am back to share my progress for the day. Maybe tomorrow I can do a weight update. Anyways.... My blood sugar when I woke up was 156, much higher than I would like. Not sure why it's not doing as good as the first week. Meal #1 was an egg (over easy), 4 slices of bacon and 2 slices of turkey bacon (have to cook that kind for my husband and son). - 116 blood sugar after Meal # 2 - leftover liver (breaded with parmesan cheese and ground up pork rinds. Served with some reduced sugar ketchup. - 93 blood sugar after Meal # 3 - A meat stick (Jack Link's brand, 1 carb for the whole thing), a cheese stick, and about 2 servings of BBQ flavored pork rinds. I also had some of the low carb/sugar free tiger fudge that I had made for Christmas. - 91 blood sugar after So my blood sugar was pretty good for most of the day and that is always a win! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Macros: 1,356 calories 94 grams of protein 97 grams of fat 11 carbs - 2 fiber (9 net carbs) I finally got more calories, I felt bad when I had ate less than 1,000 but wasn't hungry enough to eat more. How did you do today? Anything good on the menu?

Are you diabetic? I hope you can keep your blood sugar under control. My breakfast was a small steak, eggs, and two bananas. I'll be making lunch/supper soon.

@MommyOfEli2013 I'm sure I did. Diabetes runs in my family. I'm fortunate not to have it.

I am diabetic, been since 2010. Doing low carb helps, got my a1c down to 6.1. Your breakfast sounds good, hope you enjoyed! Hope you have something good for lunch/supper

Great job! Is there ever such a thing as too much protein?

Thank you! And I think there is, but you'd have to eat quite a bit (like a 10 ounce steak at once maybe)

Yes, it's getting a lot better....but some days I still find the numbers higher. I'd like it 80-100 consistently.

I had a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese, and just now had a fried fish sandwich with cheese.

Both of those sound good! I need to make some low carb bread so I can have a sandwich again.
