Childhood Memory - A Home Accident

When I was little, probably around 5-8 years old, I use to always climb up onto the counters in order to reach the items in the higher cabinets. Just as every other kid in my family and neighborhood did.
Unfortunately, one time, that back fired on me. Big time!
As I had climbed up the same way as every other time, with my right foot on the bottom of the lower cabinet and left foot on top of that cabinets door, right hand on the counter and the left grabbing the bottom of the top cabinet to pull up with..
But this time, I had some how slipped, to where I was now sitting with the cabinet door in between my legs. And in so much pain! Which I can still to this day remember - ouch!
Thankfully though, my mom and our then neighbor were right in the livingroom talking and heard noise, so they came and got me right after I fell, and put me on the couch with an ice pack. And then a few hours later I was hardly in any pain.

With this post, Courtney, I remember my childhood too.
I use to climb on trees when I was a kid.
I remember my Father always telling me it's not good for a girl to climbed trees.
At one time, I was having a moment in my favorite spot, a guava tree where there are lots of fruits in it.
I was so happy eating them.
Until Father cut it because I always climbed there. I feel the world stops at that moment.

I use to climb trees too, as did all my female cousins and neighbors. its normal here.

Yes, I feel so sad at that moment. But it did not stop me to climbed other trees.

I remember hurting myself as a kid. I also remember my sister hitting her head (near her eyebrow) when she was two and we having to take her to the emergency room for stitches.

This is the only memory I have of myself being hurt. Or of really anyone being hurt.. lol.
Actually, I remember two of my cousins getting hurt, one being because of me

I have had things like that happen where I fell and got hurt down there so I know the exact pain you are speaking of. The last time I remember it happening was when I was about 17. Hyper me instead of getting up off the wooden chair (that I used when at the computer) like any normal person would...I would stand up on it and jump over the back of it. One time my foot caught and I landed between my legs on the top of the chair. It hurt so bad and my mom was so mad at me because I broke the chair and it was handmade by a customer of my grandfathers.

Ouch! And dang!
I use to do that with our computer chair too though, lol. But it wasnt fully wood. Just the legs and under the seat. So if i had fallen like that, it wouldnt have broke.
