Tooting my own horn!

Anyone who knows me knows that if I bang a nail into a wall the wall will fall down! Heck, as it is just look at the way I hang pictures!! Then the Internet came along and slowly but surely I was driving Chuck crazy( ier !) Actually it was his fault as he got me started on the Internet. By the 5th time I emailed him, and he answered " Goggle it", I learned to google it though I have since changed to bing. Then there is poor John who I bother all the time with Internet questions. Today I got a new 27" computer monitor and, FOLKS, I got it all put together and working without help from anyone! Okay, I won't tell about not being able to find the stand and the cables because taking the monitor out of the box I somehow tossed them under the sofa. Oh yeah let's forget my calling the store ranting and raving!! Good thing I was put on hold waiting for the manager because I spotted them so I quickly turned the phone off. I have made fonts too big and had to figure out how to fill the screen and a few other things BUT I GOT IT WORKING WITHOUT CHUCK, JOHN, GOOGLE OR BING!!

Congratulations are in order. As an aside, I have also had to tuck my tail between my legs when I started to rant and rave only to realize it was my fault.

At the point I called I was already furious and when I am like that I am very apologetic to whomever answers the phone so I don't feel really that guilty when I rant and rave.

@GreatMartin I can be apologetic but usually only after I've said my peace. Nothing infuriates me more than when someone tries to interrupt me during a tirade. I often warn them "If you listen to me without interruptions I'll be calmer. I'm not directing my anger at you personally as I know you have nothing to do with it, but just bare (bear?) with me." On the off chance someone doesn't listen to that sage advice? They get an even bigger earful. Yeah, but I am actually a very nice person.

I agree--I know there are the Oscar for the movies and Emmys for TV but what do I get for the computer act?!?!

@GreatMartin Well, at least you can still toot your own horn alone.

@WorDazza He's promised to write a book that answers questions like that but somehow, it keeps never being written.

Well good for you. Congratulations and keep up the good work. I am just as great at getting my PC going as you are. Usually, if anything goes wrong me and the PC have a good long rant and then I push some buttons and if all goes well I am doing the dance of joy again.

Well in the old days we just slammed the radio or TV or whatever and it worked so why not just push buttons now?
