I am seriously thinking of replacing sugar with palm jagery which is loaded with health properties. I am not sure however if it will be fine for tea as it may replace the aroma of tea. Palm jaggery has its own smell. All other stuff where we use sugar could perhaps be replaced with jaggery. This link has information on palm jaggery

We use the other kind of jaggery for some sweets but I was keen on using palm jaggery for our tea.

I had never heard of it, but I see it could be very useful for a replacement. Hope the taste would be acceptable.

Taste is not bad but far expensive compared to sugar almost ten times more. Small amount no doubt on a daily basis.

I've never heard of it. But all that is healthier than sugar, I support.

It seems that palm jaggery can be made from several types of palm tree and each has slightly different properties. Any unrefined sugar is a little more nutritious than refined white sugar though.

I guess you'd just have to experiment. I don't know if you can buy this here. I'd never heard of it until I started myLotting.

I used it this morning but it proves expensive when compared to sugar. Taste is no issue.
