Countdowns are something we must count on in our lives. We are always waiting for something to happen even if it is just a certain date.
Calendars are manmade yet we celebrate weekends, change of months and even, many of us, decide when exactly is the day to change the sheets of the beds or to iron. We are paid daily, weekly or monthly and we wait for that.
And when we are young we wait for the minutes to go by so that we will meet the love of out loves for a soda.
I am now on the countdown to my eyelid procedure. Will I get better or worse? Will I do what I should during the first days after the surgery?
And now, what do I have to get ready to take to the hospital?
Plans and grocery lists are part of my normal countdowns. What are yours?

Yes, life is full of countdowns. I countdown to my birthday, though not as much as when I was much younger. Countdown to the new year. I countdown the notification on myLot and hope I can get to the end. I countdown the days until I get my books published. Yes, life is full of countdowns.
I hope your surgery goes well.

Thank you very much. Now that you mention it, I do remember my countdown to my birthday when I was a child. And Sofía, my youngest granddaughter, still counts the days a couple of months earlier

@Marilynda1225 I do too. Specially since I give a party for the occasion.

I hope your surgery is successful and that you'll be counting the days since it was done.

I plan as many vacations as I can pay for. Specially during winter when I want to be in a warmer climate.

For months I was counting down to the day I retired from work. That day came in October last year so now I count down to one weekend after another

Countdowns tend to be for bad things. Only good for travel plans.

I don´t agree. It is a way of scheduling our time. It does not have to be for bad things.
