Yesterday Bob got his hemoglobin checked, and it was good enough. He did not need a transfusion. Today we saw a cardiologist for a second opinion. We were well impressed.and will be changing to this new doctor. He is going to run a follow up test, a sonogram, to compare his progress in the last year and a half. We will consult about a procedure that would eliminate the need of blood thinners. He also wants to try him on a new medication and eliminate some others. It is good to have these two things behind us. Do any of you get medical care at the VA? That is where we go tomorrow.

At lease a sonogram is painless and it takes little time. I am glad you found a good doctor.

Yes, we are as well. We are working on getting VA to help pay for some of his stuff in the future.

Hopefully we can keep good nutrition going in and no bleeding. It should balance out.

I have never had VA work so far, but it should be pretty good. Glad there is progress.

It sounds as if I should have gone to the appointments with Bob last year. We might have had some of this recent problem covered.

Bob's pacemaker has a built in defibrillator. However, as long as he is taking his ACE inhibitor and BETA blocker it has not gone off. He was told that he will definitely get a shock if it does. Some people refuse to have this kind put in.

If it was just regular doctoring, we would not either. We even can get his scripts cheaper. However all this other stuff is pushing us that way. And it may be a good thing in the long run.
