Nancy Pelosi disinvites Trump for his State of the Union Address

Trump wanted a government shutdown--that he was going to be proud to do--so he got a government shutdown. We are on day 25 now I believe. The Democrats aren't budging on their refusal to fund his stupid, ineffective wall and the big orange baby won't give up the idea because he has to placate his red state base. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi pulled a power move today and basically dis-invited Trump from doing the State of the Union Address. She said in her letter that ,since the Homeland Security and Secret Service were not being funded due to the shutdown, they could not properly prepare for or ensure the safety of everyone during the SOTU event. She said that he was could either issue an update on the country's situation in writing (allowed by the Constitution) or it could be postponed to a later date. CHECKMATE! The one thing that Trump loves more than anything is public adulation. Knowing that he won't be able to stand in front of both houses of Congress and get his standing ovations and claps and be seen on so many channels on TV must be KILLING him tonight. I'm, frankly, SHOCKED that he hasn't lashed out at Pelosi today. Maybe he thinks he can still show up and deliver his address? (P.S. He can't.) Maybe he is too busy eating the leftover fast food. Perhaps tomorrow morning he will start attacking Speaker Pelosi at 6 am. But he has been awfully quiet tonight.

I love this woman. There was opposition to her being speaker, but I like old, competent women. She seems to be better at standing up to Trump than most any one else.

She is a bada$s! She and Schumer destroyed him in that televised "negotiation" meeting. They did again in their latest meeting where he started on a curse-filled rant and asked about impeachment. She has gotten him again. Trump is NEVER going to beat them on this stupid wall crap. Most Americans don't want it. His approval rating is even going down now with white non-college-educated voters (his base) while his disapproval rating is going up! This PLUS all of the stuff coming out of the Mueller investigation? He is DONE.

Trump should/should've made 'The Wall' a part of a plan to reform/refurbish THE WHOLE PROCESS. Yes, it would've been more-expensive (or not, I dunno) but ... it actually would've given more jobs, improving the economy a little.

The wall would be an expensive an ineffective vanity project. It isn't needed. You want jobs? Improve the infrastructure in this country so we don't have crumbling bridges.

It's the biggest, best shutdown Ever! And it will be the biggest Best SOTU speech that's never been given! He might start attacking Nancy in the morning but I'm thinking he won't because he's afraid of her.

1) its a stupid move on her part . for one, the house has been continuously getting swept by the fbi and other security for a month now in preperation for the speech. 2) why deny your party the best opportunity to rebuke a presidential speech, its become tradition now. its a great opportunity to state your case against his policies and what the democratic party agenda is. 3) her reasoning to postpone it are ridiculous.

"But it's going to be a great speech. The greatest speech ever. Much biglier than Obama's speeches!"
