I´m rereading one of my favorite children´s books: Heidi.

I was talking with my friend @JudyEv about small beds and ended up remembering about a book we both had read when we were small: Heidi. I often read classics online from the Gutenberg Project. They are free and you can even place them as favorites so that you read them little by little. The only books they don´t have are new books that still have author´s rights. Anyway, here I am, reading with grown up eyes the book. There are so many things that I did not understand then or that were not important to me hen I was a child. So reading is absolutely different as it was to read Little Women later on in life. Have you reread classics and found other interesting things?

I liked it then. I did not like it now. I think that few books can be read again when one grows up. I still like The Little House books.

Heidi is an old novel written by a Swiss author (Johanna Spyri), I never really liked this book. I hope you are having a good sleep.

I liked it a lot when I was a child. I suppose most of it was the beauty of the Alps. My Andes mountains are not a place where people can live. But leafing it yesterday, I found out that it was the sort of Pollyanna book I most hate.

@LadyDuck When I went to Switzerland, I told my husband that even if the camera fell and took a picture by itself, the picture would be awesome. We were for a few weeks in Lausanne where my siblings were living.

I read Heidi when I was a child and I remember the TV series as well I have re-read some of the books that I enjoyed when I was younger. Sometimes they are less interesting when I read them again, and sometimes I experience the opposite - I like the book more as an adult because I missed the symbolism, the irony or other parts of the book the first time I read it.

I liked Little Women when I reread it as an adult. I found interesting the world at Alcott´s time. But Heidi does not stand a rereading as I checked last night. The only book I read when I was young that grows bigger as I age is Le Petit Prince.

@marguicha I haven't reread Little Woman, but I remember that I liked it when I read it many years ago. I agree with you about Le Petit Prince. I received it as a gift many years and it is one the books I have kept (I have donated many of my other books to charity)

@Porcospino Le petit prince is really a book for adults written as if it was for children.

It can certainly be interesting to go back and read children's books later in life.

@marguicha I loaded it to and read bits of it. It's not quite how I remembered it.
