How many of you have Siblings with RHYMING names?

My name is Sheali and my sister is Shonali.. Even my Mom's name and Aunt's name are rhyming; Monali and Shefali.. Same is true for my dad and uncle; Samir and Probir.. I have 3 maternal uncles and each one has a daughter, everyone's name begins with the same alphabet'M': Monideepa, Madhumita and Mrinalini They are not rhyming, but start with the same alphabet.. It has been a fun tradition to give rhyming names to siblings or names which start with the same alphabet.. How many of you have such names or how many of you have given such names to your children or grandchildren?

I don't think that this is necessarily a good idea. Other people constantly mix the names. A friend of mine occasionally mixes even the names of her daughters which sound a bit alike.

@Sheali You don't have to be old to mix names. What a strange idea.

@MALUSE I am sorry.. I didn't mean it that way.. It was just an observation.. actually there are only 2 women of that age here and they have been closer to my elder sis.. Their grand children were of her age and were her friends.. So I used that term.. not in a negative way.. See I even mentioned, " They are so used to that name" I never thought it wud look like that.. I hope you understand..

I have one sister and our names don't rhyme at all. I have three kids. Although their names don't really rhyme, their nicknames kinda do. Or at least end with the same sound.

I don't have a sister or brother . . but my late grandpa, late father, and I have names that rhyme. My late grandpa's name was Antonio, my late father's - - Anselmo . . and my name is Julito. Of course, our surnames perfectily rhyme - - PALPALLATOK! Palpallatok means shooting star~

@Sheali Nope . . our four children's names don't rhyme with either mine or my wife's name. My name and my wife's name sound Spanish. Our children have American or western sounding names.

I have avoided that, I think having several people in a household all with names starting with the same letter is bound to cause confusion, and annoyance when a letter arrives for 'Ms M Whatever' and no-one knows who should open it.

I don't but my sisters do. In the chinese clans, we do have a book of the middle name passed down so that we will know what is the middle name that we should give our kids so that everyone in the clan will know which generations they are in.
