I have a couple of sandwichs in the oven.

I made sandwiches with multi grain bread topped with 3 different types of cheese. Gouda, blue cheese and mozzarella are blending in the oven. Then, just before I eat them, I´ll add some iceberg lettuce. This is part of my menu in snacks before surgery. I think it is absurd to wake up at 4am to have a whole meal at a time that I never eat. I am not going to have the feeling of a 'last supper' before my eyelids and cut and, hopefully, mended. So this will be one of the several snacks I´ll eat only if I feel hungry. The last one will have to be at 4 am. And if I´m not hungry then, at least I will drink some water. Do you feel stressed before a procedure? I do

I always do. I think it is normal to feel that way. The sandwich sounds good.

The blue cheese turns a normal sandwich into a gourmet one.

@Happy2BeMe It is a strong cheese that I usually have with other cheeses. I made a wonderful dip with Philadelphia cheese and a tiny bit of blue cheese.

And now I can use my head thinking about other snacks instead of worrying about the surgery

@marguicha Absolutely. We always worry about things we cannot control. My Dad always told me, and it is so true.

@Courtlynn I have had so many surgeries that when the nurse asked me the other day about previous surgeries, I forgot to tell her one of them.

Before I was operated for my total abdominal hysterectomy when i was 38, i was excited. That's because it was my first time to be in a hospital. I feel happy and not scared at all.
