Our Dinner was a Bit Strange, but Tasty

When we went to the grocery store, I bought a box of frozen Gorton's fish fillets. My intent was to make my own fish sandwiches, at home. Well today, I baked them until they were crispy and made Jay and me some delicious fish burgers. Along with these sandwiches, we had homemade chicken-noodle soup with hi-ho crackers. Jay liked this meal, even though it was a very unusual Sunday dinner for us. Oh well, variety makes life more interesting! Photo:NOT MINE, borrowed from Pixabay

@kobesbuddy My husband had a wisdom tooth pulled out this morning, he cannot have anything hot for two days at least.

@LadyDuck Oh that's terrible, it reminds me of when mine was removed. I was miserable, for about a week! I'll say a prayer, for your husband:)

That sounds yummy! I am afraid to try to make fish fillets with my Onnie in the house he might steal them off me! =) seriously, i had a fish sandwich last Friday when I had food delivered and Onnie didn't even realize it and didn't bother me so i may buy some frozen ones for sandwiches as i never thought to make sandwiches out of them. thanks for the idea! how did you make the chicken? that soup sounds great too! i have sone chicken noodle soup in a box or can (forget which one) and think i will make it Monday for lunch!

We love soup during the winter time, it warms us inside and out:) Those fish fillet are by Gorton's and all you need to do is bake them until they are golden brown. Any leftover fillets, I kept them in the refrigerator for another day. Microwaves make our life so simple, to warm things up the next day!

@kobesbuddy I forgot to get fish grocery shopping today! i like soup too in the winter i have only had canned soup this winter. how did we ever live without the microwave? I heated up a calzone tonight i bought at Wal Mart, without the microwave i don't know how i would have warmed it. i guess it could go in the oven but the microwave is so much easier =)

It still sounds good to me. Tonight I'm making chicken soup for my hubs, and tunafish on English muffins with potato puffs.

@kobesbuddy Well, we never had it. My husband felt well enough and ordered Italian food and went out to pick it up. Another time, I guess. I think he was sick of my cooking two nights in a row.

@kobesbuddy Not in my case! Instead I prefer meat, but I was advised to eat often, even vegetable.

One evening my mother made a huge pot of corn meal mush for supper. Of all times for my knit-picky aunt and uncle to stop by, unexpectedly! Uncle Bill ate three bowls LOL
