When your boss comes and picks you up so you don't miss work

Yup...my boss called me and said he was coming to pick me up to take me to work. There is still a police advisory to stay from the roads. We are the only business that is open uptown right now. There was no traffic on the road at all. The roads are an icy mess. He said he would drive me home after work too. Oh well....

He's considerate. Not often seen in a boss.

well he didn't want me not to be here so he came to get me since there was no buses or taxis running and my car is not working. There was a police advisory to stay off the roads. The highways were closed to all vehicles accept emergency vehicles.

It comes down the almighty dollar and not the safety of his employees. The only way I could get here was if he came to get me

My car is not working, the city buses are not running and there are no taxis so if he wanted me here that was the only way it was going to happen

You must be one of the "LIFE people" of the business. Your post reminded me similar thing 30 years ago (back in my country of origin - Philippines) when a customer from a neighboring town (my business was photography, t-shirt printing, and signboard painting) was waiting in front of our studio half an hour early before opening at 8 a.m. . . Reason - She needed a signboard for her new grocery store. And she wanted it to be done right away for its grand opening scheduled the following day. I told her that I had other projects to do that day, so, I suggested to have it painted by a friend and fellow signboard artist. "Please do it; I will double your price!"l she begged. Well, I painted it! I eventually learned that my friend/fellow artist painted her signboard. but he did not follow what he was instructed to do . So, your boss must be aware of the quality of your works and there must have been a work that should be done that day - - that is why he needed you very badly rain or shine. . . Keep up the good work! . .

Guess there was no escaping work today but at least you got a ride. With the road conditions he probably should have closed today

@lovebuglena because he refused to close even when the police issued a stay off the road warning. It comes down to money.

@Happy2BeMe It might have saved him more money to be closed today than to pay employees to work on a day when he's unlikely to get any business.

Its nice of him. But if he has charging you for this then he is too clever. So before going with him make sure of it. Are u working in some high posts. Otherwise bosses so kind specially with one employee generally not seen.

That happened to me when I was still working in Manila, the whole city was flooded so no way for me to report for work. My boss sent the company driver to our place, though work was suspended that day. It ended up just having lunch, my boss said he just arrived from Canada and did not see anyone at work. He just needed company over lunch.
