It is a good day to die. Wait. It is a good day to hike!

My friend and I watched Little Big Man the other night. It featured Dustin Hoffman as a white captured by Indians. "It is a good day to die" was a line that was repeated throughout the movie. I hadn't seen Little Big Man in years, and I still thought it was pretty good. Have you seen it? It must be from the early 1970s--I can't remember exactly.
Anyway, today is not a good day to die. It is a good day to hike. The rain has finally stopped, and it's sunny and 60 degrees out. We'll probably do the Inspiration Point trail, since it's high up, flat, and partially paved. Most of the other trails will be muddy messes right now.
What are your plans for Martin Luther King Day?

It was just another cold Monday here. Enjoy your hike.

The movie came out at the end of 1970, but I didn't see it until many years later. Yeah, it was a good movie.
It's Lincoln Alexander Day in Canada.

It may be Martin Luther King day in the states, but in Canada it's Lincoln Alexander Day. He was the first Black Canadian to be elected as Member of Parliament...

Wow. Until I started reading the comments, I thought everyone loved MLK, MLK Day and Dustin Hoffman---Well, OK, I know that the people who wear MAGA hats don't like MLK or his Day but I thought all sane people did.
Now, everything just seems confused.

Have a good hike! The kids are home for a 4 day weekend, maybe we should take a hike ourselves.
I always associate the "good day to die" with Klingons, as they often utter a similar phrase on the various Star Trek programs ("today is a good day to die").
I haven't seen that movie in years either... not since the 70s, I think.

What a great view! Did you take that photo yourself? It looks stunning! Is it the San Francisco bridge? I hope you had a nice day and had a good time with your friends.
