I made it back home safely

The above picture is what the street and sidewalk looked like in front of work today. Pretty much all the streets looked like that and it won't get any better with the temperature dropping to -27F (-17C) tonight and staying that way all day tomorrow. There wasnt much traffic today with most people staying home but there were still a lot of accidents by those who had to go out. Still lots of flooding in the areas where people live close to the water.
Have I told you that I hate winter? I really do. The snow I can a handle but this ice is so much harder to deal with.

@hillhjill Yes you can injure yourself quite badly. Last year I got a mild concussion and pulled a chest muscle with I fell on ice going to work.

I'm so glad you made it home safely! So tell us...was your store super busy today? Did everyone come rushing in for all those signs they absolutely NEEDED to have today?

Not one person came in. We had a few online orders but nothing that couldn't have waited until tomorrow

That looks so dangerous! I hope everyone who doesn't absolutely have to go to work stays inside and off the roads and sidewalks. A lady here who is just recovering from cancer got in an accident on her way home from work on the icy roads. She rolled her car 4 times and broke her hip and back

Omg that is just terrible. Poor sole. We were the only company opened in town. The whole city was pretty much shut down. The police were telling people to stay off the road due to the poor road conditions but our boss wouldn't close.

@didinedhia Yes, I am. It happened some years ago and I usually don't think about this accident. Only when it becomes icy and slippery in winter I'm reminded of it.

I think most of you hate winter because of those negative things it does to the environment , work and people.
I have seen at fb , my friend's husband who was being videoed while he was clearing the snow in her neighbor's pathway. He was using a machine. I was fascinated how the machine works.

Yes a snow blower they work great when the snow is not filled with ice but unfortunately where I am snow blowers dont work so well. Where do they live?

The ice is the only thing I can't stand about the winter too.
