The 2020 US presidential hopefuls are already out and about. But not a creature is stirring amongst the Republicans. I think Ivanka Trump-Kushner should consider running for POTUS. Why? Uuuuh … why not? Thanks to her dad she now has experience in the political arena and thanks to her dad her husband also has experience. Nobody has been dishing out any bad reports about her performance of her duties and responsibilities in her official appointed positions. So why not? This is America. She has as good a chance of winning as anybody else! AGREE or DISAGREE. Image credit: Official WH photo found at simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivanka_Trump
White House adviser Ivanka Trump on Thursday disagreed with her father’s assertion that the media is the “enemy of the people.” During a discussion with Mike Allen of Axios, Ivanka Trump was asked if she shared President Donald Trump’s opinion that the Ame

@cmoneyspinner You've never heard "Stirring The Pot." ?

@ScribbledAdNauseum - Oh yeah! I've heard about “stirring the pot!” Although people seldom accuse me of doing that. To think about it, nobody has ever told me I was doing that unless I was actually cooking a meal. LOL. I prefer the expression “kung fu fighting” as opposed to "stirring the pot". Sounds more lively! LOL.

She is young, well educated, smart and rich. It is fine for her to run for it.

@cmoneyspinner I am a foreigner and I don't know much about the politics, but I think Americans will choose the right President by their votes

@youless - A President is chosen via the voting process. The "right President"? Bet you every citizen, voting and non-voting can debate that!

I totally agree. I don't foresee any “complications” at all. I mean … so far no other Republicans have announced their intentions to become a 2020 candidate. I think … I said “I THINK” … I think her dad should announce that he has no intentions of running for a second term. He's actually the ONLY ONE who is standing in her way. Yep yep. If he were to decide he's gonna go home at the end of his four years, that would clear the way for her to step up to the plate and start swinging. I've seen the line-up of Democratic contenders. If you ask me I think Ivanka Trump-Kushner could stand up to all of them … all by herself without any other Republican contenders … and challenge them all for the highest office in the land. Don't you think so? In my opinion, most of the Democratic candidates who have declared their intentions to run for POTUS don't really have that much going for them. I'm an ordinary person and I have to say in all honesty, to borrow/modify a quote from Shania Twain ... "they don't impress me much". Theoretically the only presidential hopeful, who is a bona-fide contender, i.e. the one Ivanka really needs to eliminate from the race, is U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D).

I tried to get into a discussion about this with my husband. He's the one I usually discuss news, religion and politics with. But he yawned. He was totally disinterested. I'm like: "Forget it! I'll go see if anybody on MyLot is interested." As if my conversations are boring!

She has the right to run, but, in my opinion, she would be a terrible candidate.

In my opinion, she is just as good a candidate as all those other ones who have already stepped up and declared their intentions to run for office in 2020. She has never stated publicly that she was considering it. But according the rules or requirements for eligibility, she would be a qualified presidential candidate. There is absolutely nothing that could prevent her or stop her from running for office. I mean I get why she didn't want the job working as an UN ambassador. That job sucks! Nickki Haley will tell you that. That's why she quit! But I wouldn't be surprised if Ivanka has had "private thoughts" about running for POTUS herself. Maybe she tried to discuss it with her husband and he yawned like mine did. If she decides I am curious as to who she was pick as her Vice Presidential running mate. Hey! It takes a team! Ivanka for POTUS is a thought. But when it comes to a VEEP, I'm kind of drawing a blank as to who would be a good partner or mate to run with her.

I thought it was interesting. But my husband didn't think so. That's why I started this conversation. He wasn't interested. I talked to or tried to talk to him about this several months ago. He yawned.

Surely a run in 2024 is far more likely. Do you really think that she would mount a bid against her own father?

I think Nicki Haley quit for her own political future.
