Backyard Birds at Feeder

No matter what the weather is outside the backyard birds flock to the deck feeder. The worse the weather the more birds I get. I am almost out of sunflower seeds actually. They love these seeds. It is cool to watch them crack one the seeds with their beaks. And the peanuts as well.
Lately I have mostly blue jays, cardinals, doves, a few mockingbirds, sparrows, woodpeckers, and robins that stay in the yard.
The sun is shining nice and bright. I will be indoors today watching the birds. There is always a new bird that visits each winter. So far I have not noticed a different bird but each day I watch.
Plans for today? Stay safe and warm for those of you covered in snow.

Glad you are enjoying the birds. They all seem to be hiding from the strong winds here today.

@CarolDM I did have a brave barn sparrow in the carport this evening. Very brave as that is where the cats hang out.

If I were you I would spend some minutes staring at them. Feels so good seeing the birds being free to fly and so carefree that it is just relaxing. I have seen them in my area, though they aren't to many. In the morning, I have seen macaws and theyre so gorgeous!

@jvicentevalera Thanks, it is great therapy as it takes your mind off of whatever problems you may be having.

Wish I had time to build a bird feeder and bath but we have several trees in our property that serve as bird abode.

We do too but in the winter they do not offer much food or water. As for building anything, I purchased the bird bath locally very inexpensive, I actually need a bigger one. And the feeder was inexpensive as well, attached to the deck.

@CarolDM we have a lot of migratory birds when it's winter or very cold in other countries such as now.

Water is more a concern for our birds than food. I watch for different ones too and get quite excited if I spot a new one.

I do not put feed out for the birds since I live in the woods, but they eat the dog or cat food all the time, I do put water out for them.

Probably in this weather they do not get food elsewhere I have a birdbath where both the large and small birds frrlic. It is tapered so that the little ones get to swim in the shallows. I do not put feed for them as our garden always has fruits

So you should always have bird seeds of food for them? It is very nice to watch them eat.
