Cloths dried under the Sun light after washing

Some of you may know that we shifted the house recently and we are on the top floor. This gives an opportunity to dry the washed cloths under the Sun. On touching the cloths, dried under the Sun, is something special/freshening. I agree it is always good to dry the cloths under the light of Sun. Earlier we were not able to get the same. Going on the roof for drying cloths was not easy for me. Most of the time there won’t be enough space so what I preferred to keep on balcony after putting drying in the machine. How do you dry your cloths after washing?

We have an outdoor clothes line and always dry the clothes there. Sunlight is supposed to help fill any germs too.

@responsiveme If it is really, really hot and you leave them out too long, they can smell almost scorched.

That is the best type of drying. Only for delicate garments ,I take care to bring them in quickly

I'm glad you can now use the rooftop to dry your laundry. I use a clothes dryer except for certain items that need to air dry.

We allotted a space at the back of our house for our clotheslines/hangers. It is fresh if sun-dried; sunlight kills bacteria too.

We always get our clothes dried on the roof, but we first dry them in the washing machine to avoid the water from dripping all over

I am also doing the same thing. Earlier we kept in the side of the house and there was no sun light there still it dried as it is dried in machine.

We are not allowed to put clothes outside here or have a washing line that means for me to have a to put things the best way I can in the window the biggest one and open the window all I can. Its a very silly idea they have got but I cannot do anything about it so I manage things the best way I can. I did not know that you had moved Sree hope you are happy where you are living now.

The laundrywoman would hang them in the open garage after she has spinned dry it. It is still a bit wet so it has to be dried under the sun. We love it when it is summer because in an hour or two most of the washed clothes are already dry.

In summer we too have any problem for drying cloths. In winter season it will be cold even after drying unless it is not dried under Sun.

We always have complete home, never flat (I'll never live in flat). We always dry clothes in direct sunlight expect when it is cloudy or raining.

@Sreekala Our family was middle class, used to live in small town where my parents got accommodation as single home. Later with savings, family brought independent home before retirement. Now we live together as family, so we are able to afford anything. Nuclear family is the root cause of financial divide and instability.

I dry it in the sun. I agree they smell good. But for blouses etc better to keep in shade otherwise fades

In winter season is it ok to keep out for some time. But in summer, it will fade the colour, I agree.

Flat roofs are a rarity in Central Europe. Only some modern bungalows have them. Normal houses have a roof ridge so that snow can fall off in winter.

Seeing the picture I understood, there is no space for cloths on roof as the roofs is designed differently.
