Bluebirds Returned Yesterday

Each year I put up a bluebird house in my backyard. There are usually 2-3 families of bluebird families born right in my backyard, in Dustin's garden. It is a very special time. I photograph the entire process. From nest building, to egg laying, to hatching, and then flying away. Have done this for nine years now. It is such a special feeling to see the babies grow up and return to have more babies. I snapped this photo at the birdbath yesterday. The warmer weather helped them appear once again, splashing around in the bird bath. I will put up the bird house in a few weeks and keep you posted on how it goes. Have you seen bluebirds before? They are my favorite bird. Very special.

@Teep11 Yes, and they also bring a presence of my son who gave me a special glass Bluebird of Happiness years ago.

They are very beautiful birds and your photo is wonderful!!!!! They are extremely rare in Connecticut, but we did see some about 7 years ago and were thrilled.

@CarolDM I imagine they would. That's how I feel when we return to Florida and see Orville the osprey.

@CarolDM There is a lot of trees on the property so we dont. That would just tempt the cats more too.

So beautiful and no I've never seen them other than in photos. Glad we don't have them here though as our kitty Charlie is quite a bird hunter. They would be much too appealing for him.

No, I haven't. These birds live on the American continent. There aren't any in Europe.

That is correct. I am sure you have birds in your country that we do not have.

I have seen bluebirds. They are really pretty i love all birds .. From my living room window i have a great view i leave me window blinds open during the day so i can see and watch the birds in the trees by my house I have seen all colors even a red bird on occasion my grandma always said if you see a red bird it means more snow is coming.. I am so ready for spring all the birds and pretty flowers ..the trees are already blooming out .. Its really great for the birds that you do what you do ... Very nice ... :)
