The creepypasta fodder that my dreams have provided me with lately

I am in the process of thinking on how I will begin the story. I don't want to go into too much detail here. I will say that the dream was frightening, but not in a terrifying way. Have you ever had a dream that you've thought would make a good story? You guys know that most of my stories comes from dreams I've had or from family history I've looked up. Last night's dream, if I were to sum it up would be : Dogs, Big House, Hostage. I bet you couldn't guess where I will be going with this. The dream was complex.

The title gave me the impression you were being chase by a giant pizza. I like pizza and won't mind being held hostage by it. I'll just escape by eating out of it's fold.

Oh I do not like pizza. I eat it on occasion, but it's not my favorite. A pizza chasing me would be a nightmare.

@moeybags I was married to a man who could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I got tired of it. I've not liked it ever since. I will eat it, I even choose to eat it sometimes, but it is not my favorite. I can do without it.

I wish I could remember my dreams so I could make something out of them, I don't know what your story is going to be about but I'm sure it will be good.

@hillhjill You have to wake up slower. I read about it when I was a teenager and taught myself how to remember my dreams. I can't remember all that I read, but it was something along the lines of waking up slower and having a writing instrument nearby so that you can record what you recall instantly.

I had another set of dreams last night that might be even better. I have a few things that need to be done today, but I hope to get around to writing on them.

Make it into a short story. I would dream can be creative outlets trying to come through.

I want to make it as short as possible but there were so many elements to it.. Last night I listened to "Lucid Dreaming' as I fell asleep. I normally listen to the sounds of Native American flutes. I'm not saying that the lucid dreaming music helped, but I don't think it hindered.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I like flutes and Native sounds. I have listens to many different types over the years. It's really a personal preferance when it comes to what helps.

@whiteream Agreed. I've listened to the sound of rain on a tin roof, or trains. The trains don't pass by here anymore. Our nearest track is closed.

Wake up slower. If you can get away from setting an alarm, this helps. An alarm jolts you awake and ruins any chance of you remembering dreams, atleast at first. I trained myself to wake up and automatically start thinking about what I had dreamed the night before, even as I prepared myself for the day.

@CarolDM You are welcome. It might help to listen to calming music before bed as well. If you want to lucid dream (see someone in your dream) then you need to think about them before you go to bed. Sometimes I will think about my mom or my brother and two or three days later I will have a dream about them. Sometimes it's the same night, it just depends.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I never use an alarm. But that makes sense. Thanks for the tips.

@Nevena83 This dream would be made into a horror movie as it was meant to be scary. I did not wake up frightened. I had a dream last night that would have been a good one as well. It would be more of a suspense and mystery though.

I'm intrigued and confused. What does pasta have to do with it? I can honestly say that I did have a dream ABOUT the novel I've been working on. The story itself is finished but wasn't at the time. The dream was perfect for a scene to add to the novel so I added it.

I love when your dreams give you inspiration on your writing. I don't know, CreepyPasta is just what it's called. I didn't come up with the name, and I find it both fitting and rather silly at the same time.

@moeybags "Usually"? You have the same dreams regularly? I know I did for a few years but they were about my husband leaving me and had to do with my insecurities. Once I figured that out they stopped.

Sometimes, but usually my dreams are so fragmented it is hard to get a coherent idea out of them.

I had three or four dreams last night. I should have written about one nearly immediately, but then I fell back asleep. One dream would have made a wonderful plot to a movie. I get the "fragmented" dreams when I end up remembering three of our dreams from the night. I remember in one dream I knew what was going on, and wanted to remember it. I thought "this would make a good story" even in the midst of the dream itself.

I had another set of very weird dreams last night that may take precedent. One was very much like the scene out of a haunted house.

It was mot of a horror / terror. I was put within the walls of a home. I could move around as it was a set of secret passages but I couldn't find my way out of it.

Using dreams as inspirations for stories is an excellent idea. If you keep a notepad by your bed and jot down the essentials when you wake up, you will not only have something concrete to work on, but will train your brain to remember more of future dreams.
• United States
7 Feb 19
The idea of a notebook by my bed isn't a bad one. However, I've already trained my brain to remember the more essential parts of my most of my dreams. It gets harder to do when I've had several dreams that night. I started learning about dreams when I was a teenager and taught myself to wake up slower so that I could remember my dreams better.

Dreams are mysterious and have been significant in our lives. There are people who claim to interpret dreams but I am not really sold out wih this idea.
• United States
7 Feb 19
I believe people need to make their own interpretations and dream symbols. You can go buy a dream symbol book, but those things only give you a general guideline. I have interpreted my own dreams for years, and feel fairly confident in my own interpretations. If I were to interpret another person's dream I would give a heavy disclaimer.

I'm wondering who was the hostage - you or rhe dogs?
• United States

I was the hostage, but then, so were the dogs in a way. The people who had been doing this to the dogs? In real life they are terrified of dogs. I found it fitting that I would dream of them being the perps
