Have you ever had chicken pox?

This is a very uncomfortable illness that usually can have many complications if not properly treated (which often turns out to be very common because people tend to underestimate it). The body becomes full of "pints" (or blisters) and usually causes a lot of itching and sometimes, fever. I never had chicken pox (at least until now)... How about you?

@WiseGhots I can imagine. I caught it from my younger son.

Some of my friends already had it, and I was bothered by just seeing it.

Yes, I had the childhood diseases: chicken pox, mumps and measles.

@WiseGhots Yes, all of them. That's it was back in the dark ages, part of the growing up process.

I did not get it as a child - and even my mother will tell you this. But when I took the tests during my pregnancy, the tests showed that I DID have chicken pox in my life. Weird, isn't it?

may have been a false negative, like a false positive, because tests are not always perfect

It may be that your mother didn't remember that you had it.

I never had but had shingles. Oh, the pain, thought I was having a heart attack everyday. Think I got it from my brother. He said he got shingles before and next thing I know I have it. I did not even know it was shingles but started to see red bumps all over my chest. I killed it with whisky. Take that you SOB.

I believe that people who had small pox can have shingles, and that it is generally awful, UNLESS one gets the singles shot

I have chicken pox before when I was five or six year old. I need to take a break from my study for about three weeks. The whole body is itch and cannot scratch it and get contact to the wind. The only method to reduce the itchiness is to apply calamine lotion. Yet, I have a small scare near my eyebrow.

According to my mom, myself my brother and one of my cousins all had it at the same time when we were little. Which she said actually made it easier to deal with. But i don't remember having it.

No, never had chicken pox. And I refuse to get that shingles vaccine they keep harping on: if I’ve never had chicken pox I’m supposedly not susceptible to shingles, so why put the virus in me?!
