Why people always point out what other people don't have?

Instead of what they have? That's right! Do we always need to ignore good sides of something, of us? So, if you don't have friends, boyfriend, husband and other; well, I'm sure you have something else, right? Whether in a real life (from friends, people you hardly know, job interviews) to people online, it's always that need to act smarter or superior to others. We know what we don't have and, it's upon us to say those things, not them. I really don't see what's the point of pointing out something bad; to me, we need to market ourselves as well. How do you feel about this?

Every person has something or the other good in life. We all fail to count our blessings

We do and, I respect if other people remind us how lucky we are yet, to point out some aspect which is not their business well, they should stay away.

@moonandstars yes...I agree. But now I always count my blessings before I feel that the other person is better than me in any case.

I am guilty in charge. I mean, I have felt like this before, uncountable times. Most times I wish I had more money so I could do hundreds of things, though I have not that much money, I have love, respect, confidence, and good communication at home. When I see all the bright side of my life, I immediately realize how lucky I am.

This is more when you talk about other people but, it could work for your inner self as well. Try to remind yourself how loved you are

@WiseGhots Kind of, Mr. Ghost. Sometimes I just complain to much, but then I realize it is not worth it.

That's a universal rule just, some older people or smart people always feel an urge to comment something and, when you protest, then they are surprised cause, it was their advice to you or something. I respect a good advice and not a bad one also, why do I need to get an advice when I don't want to, right?

It is sad but it is true. The best thing we can do is to ignore what they say but I know it is hard sometimes.

Absolutely. Either ignore, give them a real smile or answering with a question; to confuse them in a way.

If we think about it, this kind of thing has been going on for hundreds of years. People have almost always lived their lives according to what other people think of them. Women were supposed to be married by a certain age or there was something wrong with them. They were meant to do this and not that. Men were meant to be strong and hard workers, they could not cry or they'd be seen as weak. Women always wanted what they perceived as better than what they already had. Men too. If one person had something another didn't, that person would be jealous and sometimes mean.

Very true facts. Society can build us but, many times, to divide us.

Of course, that's, I guess, their right but, I wonder, have these things happened to them as well so, they are sending it forward?

Of course and, if you can, just help or walk away. It's always answering with a question and making other people small

Me too. It's not always easy; I would rather listen to a dog barking all day but, it's the best option.

@Nevena83 It definitely is. If we could help people, there would be no hungry people, jobless people and ther. People always judge and ask you 100 questions did you do this or that.

@skysnap That is so right. By commenting something, they think the told you everything. Same here. I feel people wanted to "teach" me something when I've already taught myself many things.

That's how it is with insecure people. They point at other's misery or what they don't have so they will feel and appear superior and be looked up.

Some people need to do that to cover up their short comings, some people need to look smart at the cost of others, some people just need sympathy.

At the cost of others; that's a good term and it's alive for quite a long time.
