My odd project for today

I have a former kid client who is now 20. She lives in Colorado and is in culinary school. She is taking a class right now on making and marketing spirits with a twist. Because she lived so long in California (we met when she was four and her mother was in recovery), she wants to create a spirit subtly flavored by redwood trees. My assignment (she called me the other day) is to harvest some bark from redwood trees and send it to her. I have a few youngish redwood trees near my house, so I'm going to harvest some bark from them. Later in the Month, I may go to a redwood forest and gather some bark for her from larger, older, trees. Do you have any odd projects for today? What does your Sunday hold?

What an interesting project and maybe one day you'll get to taste the results.

@TheHorse She will. You fill in like father figure. Right? She sure is lucky to have a person like you in life at the right age.

Oh, who knows? I'm not going to hurt a tree. I might even find some on the ground.

@NJChicaa Everything is protected here. I don't pick California poppies.

I would not say that I have an odd project, I plan to make "quark balls".

@TheHorse Quark is a cheese, quark balls are not exactly healthy because they are fried food, but so good and once in a while they cannot kill.

@1creekgirl Oh, yeah. She is one of my "success stories." But I worry (probably too much) about many of the kids I've worked with.

Yes, she's one of my few former kid clients that I'm still in touch with. She sent me a Father's Day card this past year, which really warmed my heart.

I helped lead singing at church and attended a pot luck. My mind was very unsettled and I had a lot of back and body pain. Took medicine, and slept. That is why I am up at 1 in the morning. I have had almost six hours sleep. I will go back to bed in a minute or two. Probably will find a snack first.

Sorry about the back pain. I have that too. In fact, I'm going to go hang on my chinning bar and then do my rolly thing.

I had a real long nap and a real short time at work. (I was going to work today, but after about half an hour it started snowing and I said, "Nope, not gonna risk it," and came home.)

I dont know if it’s odd but, for this year i started a project which is saving all the 20 and 50 bills. Instead of a coin which we drop in our piggy banks, mine are these bills and i put them in a medium sized plastic container.
