Snow in Northeast Wisconsin

It was still snowing when I got up at 4:30 this morning. I checked in to the weather and saw it was winding down. Snow totals range from 8-14 inches with the highest being 14.3. Green Bay got 8.8 inches of lovely snow.
I haven't gotten the notice yet, but I'm sure it will show up soon on my door to leave between 12:30 and 3 for snowplowing. Today, I'll go to the library and hang out for a couple of hours.
Before I went to bed last night I texted my son about his next day off so I can do laundry. That will be tomorrow. I told him I would be over in the morning before the next snow arrives. This time it won't be an inch more. It won't last nearly as long either. Nor will it impact kids and school closings. The little darlings will be at there desks studying hard as they are today.
I noticed when I looked at my phone that I had another four texts from a friend from church who knows how much I love snow. He asked that I stop praying for snow. The school bus drivers were having trouble. There were smiley's all over the texts. I sent the text back saying I would let up a little bit and sent a smiley.
Plows are still out, but traffic has picked up with everyone back to work today.
If you were impacted by Winter Storm Maya, how much did you get? Thanks for reading.
I just took the picture. There's a car under a mound of snow at the house across the street. You can barely make it out.
Edit: I just got the notice. They will plow between 3-5 because there is a snow emergency until 3 PM and we can't park on side streets until then. So, I will be here a little longer today.

I'm glad you love snow so much. If we had gotten that much I probably would be complaining today

@Marilynda1225 I know a lot of people, not kids though unless they're complaining they're going back to school, are complaining about the snow we got.

This better not melt anytime soon. I would be very unhappy. We still have several weeks if not a couple of months before spring claims the land and flowers poke through the earth. If it were to melt all at once we would have flooding, so I hope it doesn't. I don't see any warm temps in the forecast so I hope it stays for a while.

I have a feeling, we may be getting a similar storm on Tuesday..I will have to watch the weather at noon. I wouldn't mind a little snow..but 8 to 14 will shut everything down..and make driving a pain for days.

@just4him Oh okay. I didn't know because of the weather, if they'd be open.
Our libraries close at 5 three days of the week and 8 the other two.

That's way more than a blanket of snow but a pile of blankets.

I think that we got about 6 inches but it was light and fluffy... it was the layer of ice under it all that I completely forgot about !!

Is the car across the way to the right of the closest tree? Otherwise, I can't really tell where any car may be hiding. My neighbor thinks we got eight inches yesterday and I got most of it plowed today. My daughter had a hard time once she got into the road so my husband wanted me to plow down to the stop sign so he wouldn't get stuck. That was about four yards away.
I tried, but it was just too much. I got one swath done heading down to the sign and then left the blower in the road so I could walk the rest of the way to look it over. It looked like enough cars traveled over it to make it easier and so I went back to the blower, turned it around and began to try to push it back home. It was too heavy, so I had to continue using the blower while pushing which meant that I put some of the street snow into driveways that were already plowed earlier that day. I took time to redo the mess I made before continuing on my way.
I told my husband that was the last time I was doing that. I don't mind doing a bit in the road at the end of the driveway to make backing into the street easier, but that was enough.

@just4him Neither of us would be able to push him out if he got stuck at the end of the road. But, I found that even when I decided to quit heading down to the stop sign because the snow was so deep the blower wouldn't even move unless I was using the blower part which meant that I was putting snow from the road onto the driveways of neighbors that was already cleaned off. For one of them, I ended up re-cleaning the end of the driveway where I'd added to the piles. Doing that cemented my decision that I'd not do that ever again.

Wow that's such a pretty picture of all your pretty snow. We didn't get any snow as it was all above us but we have plenty of ice in the yard but the roads are good.

Weather yesterday started cloudy and warm with a fast cold front that pushed through with a small thin layer of heavy rain that lasted five minutes followed by temps falling 15 degrees in the matter of seemed like seconds. Today it is sunny and cool with the temps climbing back up to the 70s for Friday
