Got hit with more snow than expected, by me that is because...

Because I've been reading and talking about what everyone else is getting and expecting that I forgot what was forecast for us. I know we were supposed to to get ice on top of any snow and that didn't come. Now they are saying tomorrow we will have temps almost in the forties again. They did forecast a wintry mix for tomorrow but the temps were too be barely over freezing if even that, so that's a new change. I didn't take a ruler outside but I'm guessing we got about six inches over the course of yesterday and during the night. It was still snowing when I took the but the sun came out a few minutes ago and it's since quit. My daughter just left for work and should have gone in the direction of the main roads but took out normal way there which means less roads are plowed. She was almost such at the end of our driveway and could barely get traction going down the road plus the snow is up to her doors which doesn't help. I'm caught up on my notifs other than what came in last night and I'm thinking of seeing whether I should work today since I called in yesterday. I don't think I have inflammation in my knee now that the storm is gone.

Oh no, and winter isn't over yet but many of us would like a breather from the weather we've had these last three weeks.

As far as I can remember, we never had so much snow (I do not count the mountains in my country)

@LowRiderX how much is the average you might get at one time and do you know what your might get as a total for the season? I know that Washington and Oregon were the first states to be hit with Maya and they got more at once than they usually get in a years time.

I'm guessing you got what we got a few days ago. I think the snow is better than the wintry mix especially for those that have help plowing. I've not yet checked to see if Maya is finally leaving or still lingering in some places.

@amadeo I don't expect continued warmer weather until we get into May, but it should be nicer come April and better than it is now when March shows up. How much nicer remains to be seen, but there shouldn't be any more below zero temps and the snowfall storms should be further apart. I meant that the current storm named Maya should be out of your neck of the woods by the weekend at the latest unless it's already left. I've been trying to get a few things done and haven't checked the current forecast for the nation for the rest of the week yet.

Wow! You sure did get a lot of snow. We got hit with a rainy day and a cold front, but I'm not complaining after seeing your photos.

We were supposed to have two more systems come through next week, but it looks like maybe at least one has gotten lost or something. Maybe tonight I'll take another look at the forecast again to know for sure. The snow is more welcome than all the ice we got except when our cars are lying too low to the ground that is.

@DianneN If my app is correct we might have a few days respite before the next snow storm begins and then that one may last over a week if it has it's way, which I'll be praying that it won't. After that comes March which is supposed to come in like a lion. With winds, that is. I hope it's not with more snow or colder weather.

Oh no I hope your daughter will be okay on those roads. It is supposed to warmer today in the 40s so snow should melt but then be colder again tomorrow so the driveway will be all ice again. Right now the snow is crunchy so there’s traction to walk on.

We are getting the warmer temps too and sunshine but so far nothing seems to be melting. It's not supposed to near the forties till after two so it may not melt much. My daughter did fine.

We went out a little while ago ... light fuffy snow covering 2 inches of ice. Forgot that we got freezing rain yesterday... Should have known that it was too good to be true!! At least its done for today...

This snow is medium for fluffiness. It's a bit heavier than the ten inches we got but it was still fairly easy to shovel snail areas. I'm sure the ice will remain until we have more than one day of sun. Next week looks better than it was supposed to be originally.

You got a nice amount of snow. It looks pretty. When I was out today, I felt dwarfed by the snowbanks with my little car.
