Happy Valentines Day

It's a sunny day here in my little corner of the myLot world. It's Thursday and Valentines Day! If you're celebrating or not I'm sending out some smiles and good wishes for you today.
I'm not celebrating Valentines Day and haven't in many years. I don't have a husband but do get plenty of love from my family and close friends. I don't feel the least bit sad on Valentines Day and just chalk it up to being just another day.
Since today is just another day for me, I've been busy doing the routine things around the house this morning.
Yesterday I made a nice pot of chicken soup which I'll have for my lunch and tonight we're having roasted turkey breast with mashed potatoes and a veggie. Since both my daughter and I have cut back on sugar I am not going to bake a cake. I have the urge to bake but am resisting. I don't want to use today as an excuse to eat sweets.
Anyway, just wanted to check in and say hi to everyone today.
My coffee is long gone and I have to move the laundry from the washer to the dryer and get a few more things done before I can sit and relax.

Do you find that many recipes still taste good even if you use less sugar? A lemon slice sounds really good

@Marilynda1225 Yes - particularly any older recipes. And maybe having gradually cut down on so much sweet stuff over the years our taste buds have become used to slightly less sweet stuff. .

Today is just a regular day for me too, as the boyfriend still can't get here just yet. Though, my mom and I did go pick up her birthday / our valentines cake at the store this morning, and have both had a piece since.

When I think of Valentines Day my mind drifts back to when I was a young child.
Do up those little paper Valentines for my classmates was a lot of fun.
My husband and I celebrate our love for each other every day, and on Valentines Day as well, but my real thoughts of Valentines Day revolve around those from my youth.
I'm glad that you felt good and had a good Valentines Day. Everybody is somebody's sweetheart in one way or another.

Me too, I'm going to have a nice dinner tonight with a leftover laulau, a Hawaiian dish of steamed luau leaves with pork and a bit of fat for moisture with canned beef stew I just bought from Walmart with brown rice and fresh bagged veggies I just got from Walmart too. Watching Hallmark channel Valentine's Day shows tonight. It's a pleasant Valentine's Day for us singles.

I have a package of those all sugar type sweethearts candies. I may eat them.
I don't have a sweetheart either, though late last year I thought I might have had a sweetheart, that didn't last too long.
I am not bothered about it either. It just means I have more time to read and do whatever I want to do. I will spend a little time on mylot and then go about doing the things I want and need to do.
