Ran into an old teacher!

When we were out for breakfast this morning, we ran into an old teacher of mine. I don't remember what class he taught, but I know it was in high school. He even was teaching back when my mom went to school! I am surprised that he still remembers me, since it has been over 10 years since I was his student, and he's had many since then. He may be retired now since we usually see him at this restaurant when we go there for breakfast. He remembered my mother as well....he must have a good memory! We are friends on Facebook, lol.....and today he complimented me on my artwork! I thought that was so sweet of him. Have you run into a teacher from when you were in school many years later? Did they remember you?

My husband and I are friends with the high school band teacher. It helps that both of his brothers are in high school. And they say hey do you know so and so. That’s my brothers! Also theyfo do you this little girl or boy. Yeah that’s my niece and nephew.

@MommyOfEli2013 we live in a big area, so there is several different schools so it’s hard to run into the the teacher unless they live in the area. Most of the teachers commute to teacher.

That is good to hear, I didn't know if it was just a small town thing, or if it happened in other places...but it seems to occur in a lot of places :)

Thats probably why he remember you, because you're facebook friends. Unless you just added one another. All my school teachers remember me, my mom and my brother. Even the elementary ones. I love it. As i only ever had one bad teacher. Which was in middle school.

@Courtlynn Haha, yes it kind of was at the time! This time he seemed to not think I was my mom lol. And thank you, she was also not very nice either. So glad I had a different art teacher once I got to high school

We became friends on facebook about a year ago....but before that I was surprised he remember me lol. I think the first time we saw him at the restaurant he called be my mom's name lol. That's awesome that all of your teacher's remember you and your brother and mom! And that is good that you only had 1 bad teacher! I had a few of those, one was a racist art teacher...but that's a story for another post lol

It was very interesting, he has always been a very nice person, and a good teacher! And that is great to know...it's fun to find out if others have similar situations or not!

I often run into old students of mine in the grocery store. I recognize the faces but the names escape me. I went to school in a different area of the US.

That is cool that you run into students of yours...I didn't think to ask if anyone was teachers and ran into their students!

That happened to me last December. But it's common to meet my old teachers since we live in a small city. Every face will always be familiar. lol But my teacher still remembers me. I remember, he was our math teacher. I can't forget him because he was a very strict teacher...lol

@MommyOfEli2013 I can't forget him... he was our teacher in our elementary years... One day in our class, he got so annoyed with one of my classmates (the kid was really annoying...) that he lost his cool... He threw an eraser to that annoying kid and it was a good head shot.. lol

@Dextoi Oh wow, I have never known a teacher to get that way (that I can remember)! Wouldn't be able to forget that!

Oh yeah, I wondered if it was just a small town thing, or happened everywhere lol. That's good that you remember what he taught and everything! If I go through my old yearbooks I can find out what this teacher taught, but they are not at my house.

Wow how nice. I ran into my professors from college and one remembered me and sometimes we meet at Walmart shopping. Another professor whom I saw riding the same bus did not remember me or if he did he made no mention and neither did I. That's life.

@MommyOfEli2013 That's life, so true. I see some of my classmates around Oahu, but they don't remember me, too, so I just smile inwardly and go on my merry way.

Since you are friends on Facebook that probably helps him remember who you are. Anytime my parents ran into teachers they would remember my father but not my mother. I was so bad I am sure there is no way my teachers forget who I am

Yes, but he remembered me even before we were friends on Facebook :) That's interesting they'd remember just your father! Haha, well I was a good kid and am remembered by a few lol.

It is awesome, I wish he was still going to be teacher for maybe 12 more years so he could teach my son too, lol! And it's always nice that we see him when we go eat at this restaurant....I think he goes there every day for coffee!

I remember meeting the headmaster from my old primary school, he retired when I was about 8 and then I ran into him quite a few years later. He remembered me but then it was a very small village school!
