I agree about 1984. And there are my others at the moment: 2)The Business; 3)Daughter of Time; 4)Future of Freedom (non-fiction but very well written, very witty but very educating) 5)Schwejk (by Chechish author Jaroslaw Hashek, hopefully translated to English)

I also read the Lovely Bones. It was a really good book but very sad! It made me worry about the safety of my daughters.

It was a very sad book, but I like the idea of heaven that the author came up with. I agree with you about worrying about your children though. There's alot of sick people out there.

I've read A Child Called "It", it's a very sad book. I don't understand how any mother could treat her own child like that or why he didn't receive help sooner. I still need to read the follow up books.

Yea I havent read the others yet or his brothers book but I've heard they are equally as good (for lack of a better term)..It is sad in a way but I dont think I found it as sad as many others I've talked to....I mean the things that were done to David were absolutely shocking without a doubt but when I think about it and was reading it I had a sense of sadness but also calm because he is just one more person to show that you can overcome it...Even though I know you cant and definately shouldnt compare the pain of any two ppl I personally believe that his horror growing up was far worse than mine (though that doesnt make mine any less painful or easier to recover from)...my story, his story, his brothers story, and the story of numerous others show those that are still in the victim stage that recovery IS possible no matter what...When Rabbit Howls is another survivor book of sorts that is hard to read (for me) but a really amazing story all the same...Her recovery though isnt standard..she is a D.I.D and her true being no longer exists, her life is now lived through all her personalities but its remarkable how they've managed to function all this time..I highly recommend that book if you have interest in that type of read

Thanks, I'll definitely check it out! It sounds very interesting. I didn't know that David's brother wrote a book as well! What's it called?
