I sit alone in what was home
but now it's just a house
to which no more my love will come,
beloved, loving spouse.
To face the future without him
will be so very hard,
I wonder why Fate's been so grim
as to have dealt that card.
And so I weep, tears make me blind
when I'm alone at night,
his image whirls round in my mind,
my life has lost it's light.
Our lives were twined, now I'm alone
with grief so hard to bear
my heart is heavy like a stone,
I see his empty chair.
To lose my love has brought such woe
now him I can't embrace,
no wonder that the teardrops flow
I'll see no more that face.
They're ended now, our years of gold
and I am desolate
we were together young and old
now heartache is my fate.

Oh I'm very sorry for your loss, Janet. Your husband may not have completed that beautiful cruise the two of you wanted to embark but I'm sure he can freely go wherever he wants now. Take comfort knowing that he's now free from the pains that we experience only in this earth. My prayers for his eternal rest and for you to be able to move on with life. Hugs for you!

@jaboUK I remember him to be a hammy guy with such clever, funny things to say. I've always felt your closeness to him - lots of happy times - I loved that you traveled those many wonderful trips together. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts .
