This may be a sensitive topic for those who own English as their language, but here is. Truth is, I have heard comedians from India and from other non-English speaking countries deliver incredible lines in English than people who knows only English, whether it is American English or British English. Of course, I studied it a little and came up with a conclusion that it may be the fault of the English speakers that other races are now better in English than they are. First, it is a requirement for non-English speakers to learn English, so the communication with the English speakers would be easily facilitated. For example, requirements for scholarships presuppose excellence in English. Applicants for the courses mastered English and proficiency level just became par excellence. Second, learning English is fascinating when someone thinks in his native tongue and translates into English the way he thinks. That is why the people from India seem to be at their element when they express themselves in English. As I hold Tagalog as my native language, I will give a simple example. English: Put it on the table. Tagalog: Ilagay mo sa hapag kainan. Translated to English: You put it on the dining table. What do you think?

In my opinion speaking English has become a necessity for non-English speakers worldwide, not only to get a better job, but also to be able to communicate to others in an universal language as it is. Being able to express myself in such great language makes me feel so happy, and seeing that people understand what I mean it is just music to my ears. I know the road is long when learning a language cause sometimes one gets frustrated when not knowing how to try to make a sentence (it has happened to me before) but at the end of the day it is a day to day process to finally master it. Even though I don't live in a native English speaking country, I always try to bring English into my life so I don't forget the knowledge I have gained.

You can express your self much better than the native English speakers, more specifically, better than most Americans. That is precisely what I mean, non-English speakers who are bent on studying the language become much better than the English-speaking people.

@ThreeTeddies Yes, I know. Americans couldn't even spell their own words. My niece migrated to California a few years back and before she was allowed to enroll in a college course, she was required to take proficiency in English test. She aced the examination, the only one who received an A. Her American counterparts were bewildered. My niece was more puzzled, the test was like a high school quiz for her. American English is like baroque, as in odd, or highly irregular.

Nope, it is not rusted at all, just that you must think before you write anything. It's the idea that is off. No offense meant. You need to read good stuff more.

No-one knows all the nuances and quirks of a language like a native speaker brought up speaking it. I have known people from the Indian Sub-Continent who think they speak good English but are, in fact, a long way away from mastering it. I'm guessing it's the same for most languages.

Uh Oh, the people from India, especially the children, no matter how poor, sleep with books under their heads. The people are well-read. English, I believe, is now a second language. I think that more people there have read Shakespeare than the British. Here's an example. The stand-up comedian had obviously mastered English.
