This is one of two Chopin monuments that we found to Chopin who was born of a Polish mother and a French father. This one is at his birth house out in the countryside about an hour by train southwest of Warsaw. This is quite a nice house, though at the time that Chopin was born, it had a thatched roof and dirt floors, if that can be imagined. The other one is much large and more complex, in a great park in Warsaw, much like Central Park in New York City. When we got to Warsaw, it was bout -35F and stayed -0F for a couple of weeks, then below freeing for a couple of months. Really cold!

That is very cool. I am a musician but I like Renaissance and Baroque music more than Chapin's era. I admire people who can play his compositions, though.

Chopin's fingers were so long and flexible that he could play a piano key with his third finger passing over his little finger, to play and 'extra' note that no one else could. I have a classical channel on my TV, Baroque to the present that I listen to often. g GLAD TO SEE YOU IN jJAPAN, HAVE NOT BEEN THERE, MAY GO SOMEDAY.

I adore Chopin. He's very calming. My other favourites are Debussy, Rachmaninov, Vaughan Williams and Elgar.

A wide range of favorites. Great. Chopin's fingers were so long and flexible that the could reach his third finger over his little finger and play an 'extra' note, not done by anyone else that I know of.

@JWMILLER It's never too hot in Poland, even during the summer months.

Interesting looking monument. I can imagine it in spring and summer. I remember the cold winters of Latvia now I am glad to be in Florida.

It was very cold. The whole country, about the size of New Mexico, was caverned with snow,
