A Saturday Surprise

I got a very nice surprise when I got up this morning....my grandson is on winter break and is going to come and stay with us for the whole week. I always love when he visits and when I heard he was coming I am all smiles today.
Of course I'm totally unprepared for his visit and normally would have shopped and had some of his favorite food and snacks in the house. We'll have to wing it until tomorrow when we can make a run to the grocery store.
Tonight he's going to have an overnight at his cousins (my oldest daughters who lives close by). They are the same age and have a lot in common. They keep in touch through the internet and some games they play so it's not like time passes for them.
Last time my grandson was here was over Christmas holidays so it's nice that he's back again before the summer.
Other than that, no new news today.
The sun is shining, the snow/ice is 99% melted and it will probably be all gone before the next snow arrives.

Must be someone who brings you cheer as not all youngsters do that these days. They get engrossed in video games.

Don't get me wrong, he loves video games. But he does engage in conversation and doesn't have his eyes glued to his phone constantly.

We're leaving for our son's place in a little while, and I haven't seen Ellie in 2 months, so I am looking forward to taking her for a nice long walk this evening. Our son usually takes her out, and when we are down, he usually asks me to tag along so we can walk and talk and catch up together.

The dogs were so excited to see him. They were jumping around and running around. It was hilarious.It will be nice having him take them for a longer walk than I do.

@Marilynda1225 He always wanted to play hockey since he was two years old. Our other son only enjoyed swimming. Not athletically inclined either. I'm sure your grandson has many other interests and talents that he enjoys.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I hope I get one of those some day! My son does want to have a child at some point. I would like to see him get married first, but we will see what happens. His current GF seems pretty good. She is completing her Bachelor's in Nursing.

I am glad you get to see your Grandson so soon and so unexpectedly. I hope you enjoy the time with him. A whole week, that will be fun! Is he in College?

No he's in 8th grade and is 13 years old. He's on winter break and loves to spend time here in the country

@Marilynda1225 Oh okay, I see. Isn't it a little late for winter break? School's down here do winter break from the 23rd of December to the 2nd or 3rd of January.

I'm so happy for you! I know what you mean about having all kinds of food in the house. The check-out girls at Walmart know when some of our kids or grandkids are coming by the amount of food I'm buying! Have fun, I know you will.

Hi im glad he is. Coming to visit you ..and hope all goes well ..im having a good day so far we had flurries here last night but none that sticked the sun is shining but i havent ventured outdoors yet ..will go.get my mail soon ..how old is your grandson ?
