Feeling Obligated on facebook

Do you ever feel obligated to keep certain friends and family on your Facebook page? I have two fb pages because one is for friends and family that I feel obligated to have on my fb but I don't really like them knowing all my updates. My second page is for folks who love hearing from me and there us constant interaction between us. I don't know why I feel obligated to people who really don't care much about me, they are just wanting to be nosey. Yet, there they are and I would feel guilty if I kept them out of my life completely. Sometimes guilt is a feeling that keeps you doing something you are not comfortable with in order to please others. Sometimes being me really bugs me.... Lol!

I agree! I mostly use it to post my photography and art. I actually enjoy myself more here on mylot.

I don't use Facebook much these days. But I sometimes feel obligated to "like" this or that when I don't really care...

I do the same thing, but mostly if it's someone I care about.

We are not 'friends' with our son and that's fine with us but it would be good to have a second page I guess so we could be in his lives a little more. We phone and email so it's not all bad.

I'm on with my three sons, but my oldest knows how to keep things from me he doesn't want me to know about. He is a police officer and he tries to protect me from knowing more than I could handle. He knows I worry all the time.

I think this is true for so many these days. I only log in to post pictures I've taken or my latest art piece. But K spend more time on others sites marketing my work.

FB keeps track of almost our events like CIA... its just addictive in my part of the world and generation if you dont want to be catapulted to the 18th century. It's just a blend in program.
