Swollen tonsil

My right tonsil were swollen for 4 days. I couldn't not eat or drink anything. I could not even stand myself. I wasn't aware of how serious it was. By the third day i wanted to go to the hospital but i felt so weak from not eating or drinking anything. Thank God it went away but now my throat feels super dry and not lubricated at all. I have drank so many bottles of water and now i am finally feeling better. Has anyone ever had their tonsil removed? I honestly thought it was a regular sore throat but atleast it finally went away.

My cousin suffered a lot from it in her childhood and she got it finally removed in High School. Now her 8 year old daughter is going through the same and may need a removal.

Wow i bet. So if it happens to me again i should probably see if they can remove them right? It's the worse. I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

@Ladanger If it is too much of trouble better to get rid of it for once. My cousin's case was too bad... It effected her daily life she suffered very much and it impacted her schooling and other stuff.

I've been through a severe one and it is really hard. It took weeks for my tonsils to be fully recovered.

I had problems with my tonsils regularly when I was a child. I had them removed when I was twenty years old. I am *very* glad that this was done.

I used to suffer from this problem when I was a little girl but I thank God that it did not persist. You need to go and have them checked.

Tonsil is something very serious and you may get fever if it is not taken care of at the right time. Whenever I get sore throat I try to do something from the beginning so that it won't go to serious. Drinking warm water in early morning (as first) will help to cure simple issues in throat.

I have suffered from throat infections all my life. Whenever i feel it coming I get some Listerine and gargle with it.

Maybe that is what i should do is maybe gargle on some because when i felt it coming i didn't think much of it and i let it get worse.

Tonsil is very painful i usually suffer from tonsil in winter season. When i went to check up Doctor recommend me to drink warm water and gave some medicine. Better to rink warm water rather cold drink and cold water if you have tonsil regularly.
