Slip and Fall

Happy Thursday Everyone!
It snowed and sleeted yesterday. The schools were closed again and my daughter didn't go to work. She went in today and I haven't heard yet about schools having a delay or opening on time.
It's a dismal looking day. When the sun is shining on the snow it looks very pretty but with the gray skies it almost looks like it's going to snow again.
I hate weather like this as I'm always afraid of slipping and falling. So I basically become a hermit throughout the winter months.
Yesterday my Aunt was telling me that her sister in law slipped and fell on the ice, broke her ankle and it will take about 6 to 9 months for it to heal. That seems like a very bad break to me if it's going to take that amount of time to heal.
Egads! It just makes me more leery of going out when the weather is bad as I certainly don't want to have to deal with a broken anything.
It certainly makes Florida look even more appealing for the winter months. Yes, @DianneN one of these days

I've had my share of falling here in sunny, beautiful, tropical Florida! The latest playing tennis, but I had to get that ball over the net. Usually I'm pretty agile, quick, and light on my feet. I do hope you are able to visit Florida during the winter months. It's not only Paradise, but in the USA, too! lol. No snow, cold, ice, frost, or trees without leaves. We have gorgeous palms and flowers blooming all the time. It's not too hot, humid, or cold at all. You can always stay with me for a week or two just to test the waters.

Most of what keeps me here is my family. I think I would miss them too much. But, you never know. Thanks for your offer. It would be fun

@Marilynda1225 I miss my family, too, but they want us to be happy. They visit when they can, and we FaceTime at least 5 days a week. Besides, absence makes the heart grow fonder, if that's even possible with our family.

Stay safe.

So do you want to move to Florida? I am glad that winter leaves and we have nice weather afterwards.

That is a great idea to spend winters there and go back to where you live after the weather starts to be nice. That is a good plan.

So sorry to hear about that fall. Yikes! I will put a prayer in for the fallen. For that reason, I am so thankful that now I am in the US and in Florida. Back where I lived in Riga, Latvia our suburban street was all dirt. In the winter it became like a sheet of ice many times. If I had to go out I would walk along the sides, hold on to fences and pray all the way to the main street which was always clear.

That does sound like a treacherous walk to get to the main street. I'm sure you're happy to be back in the states and enjoying sunny Florida

Ouch! I hope her pain level isn't too high. And the 6-9 months go by fast for her.
Please be careful, if you have to go out.

I can't imagine what that must be like. I just complained because there were snow flurries on Tuesday morning but nothing stuck to the ground and it did make it up to about 42 that day, today it's up to 63.
I don't know how Dianne does it with all the humidity florida gets.

I am lucky I have not fallen this year and hurt myself.
I did fall the other day but luckily only minor injuries.
Sorry to hear of that lady.
