Have you ever been to a Drive In Theatre? Are there any still in your area?

As a teenager we went to the drive in almost every weekend. It was so much fun. It is where everybody hung out. Sadly over the years most of the drive-ins have closed and they are now a thing of the past. A lot of the younger generation have never been to one. We still have one about an hour from here. There is also a campground that is apart of it. I haven't been there in awhile but I know my son and his family go there quite often throughout the summer. Do you still have a Drive In in your area? Have you ever been to one?

I used to go with my parents and brothers in our jammies, then later with various boyfriends. There is one I know of up north, but we prefer the theaters. Besides, my husband won't allow eating in the cars, which is what I would definitely do at a drive-in.

You went to drive ins with boyfriends? Don't tell lol! Did you also witness drive ins becoming swap meets? That's what happened with many here.

I was born in 1949 so yeah, I remember the driviens. Dad used to take us all out for a hamburger at Lucky Boy's drive in then we'd go to the drivein movie, do you remember the carhops on their rollerskates?

We never had drive-in in Italy when I was young. For what I know there are none here in Switzerland.

@Happy2BeMe Europe is a small country with plenty of people and not large spaces where to open something like this.

In the whole 15 towns on the Cape, only two have ever had Drive In Theaters, that I am aware of. One closed I think before I was born, but the other is still open every summer. We went there often as kids, even though its about 45-60mins away. We're planning on going this summer, depending what plays, which will be the first time in over 10 years. (Though, I did go to one near my boyfriends about 5 years ago).

There is one drive-in movie not too far from us. It just can be a little tricky to get too, and there aren't a whole lot of movies playing.
