I’m a Wonderful Teacher!

I’ve always been meticulous with organizing my closets and drawers, including the linen closets. My husband, who is very neat, too, had a very bad habit of arranging his shirts willy nilly in his drawers. Some shirts with collars would face outwards. Some not. Some tee shirts would be mixed in with the shirts with collars. I shouldn’t complain, since he helps put the laundry away when he’s around. However, it drove me crazy when I put his freshly laundered polo and tee shirts away. So I organized his shirts, and showed him how he should place them. When I last peeked, the photo shows what I found. Either I’m a wonderful teacher, or he’s a very bright student. I’m very pleased with the results. Do you keep your closets and drawers neat and tidy?

I actually do so. Yet, I'm good at misplacing things. "Where is my key?" is a question I've often asked in my life.

@DianneN At the end of my teaching career I always sent pupils to the staff room to fetch this or that. Glasses were among these items, too, because I only needed them for reading.

Good to know. I, too, misplace things. It's usually my reading glasses.

You're an excellent teacher and he's a wonderful student. My closets and drawers reflect my personality. At least my clothes are hung up and put away.

He gets an A+ on his report card thanks to his most excellent teacher . Hubby doesn't have a lot of clothes to deal with - so his stuff is pretty easy to manage. I, on the other hand, have tons of clothes and not enough space . . . the clothes I have room for are neat and tidy . . . but the rest, well !

I hear you! My husband had to have our bedroom cut in half to make a walk around in type closet for me. I won't tell you about the four other bedroom closets or attic or basement up north. Here in FL, I'm keeping my walkin closet manageable.

Congrats to you both! Things here...well they surely are not perfect but while the kids are young I prefer to spend my time with them more than cleaning all the time. They grow so fast, as you know!

Yes, both Jay and I are meticulous with keeping our closets and drawers organized. The only problem, one day I was short on hangers, so I took a hanger out of his closet. When Jay got home he snarled, 'Hey, somebody stole one of the hangers out of my closet!' I wilted, because there's only two people who live in this home. Who could have possibly 'stolen' one of Jay's hangers? He even keeps track of every single hanger! Did I get in trouble? Of course not!

I hear ya! With all my shopping lately, we are short of hangers now. I took all of my husband's extras and those from the guest room closet. Today I asked the saleswoman is I could have the hanger that came with my blouse. I really, really needed it.

@kobesbuddy I've seen those made by others. I'm sure they were perfect for hanging shirts, blouses, and dresses without ruining the shoulder lines.

@DianneN My grandma who was quite poor, made coat hangers with yarn. She'd give them away, as Birthday presents and Wedding gifts. People would honestly thank her for this humbling gift! They were strong(made out of two regular hangers) and I still have about ten of them hanging in our closets!

I am very organized with my clothes when I put them away. I definitely place t-shirts and collared shorts separately, and I have a certain way they are placed in the drawers. But I wasn't quite as meticulous as a girlfriend I had about 10 years ago. She actually sorted and organized everything by color. I thought that was a little extreme, although I admit it made it easy to find what I needed, especially when looking to match clothes.

@DianneN I used to be a neat freak. I'm not so much anymore. I'm not quite as organized as I used to be. Or maybe I just don't have time. Who knows. I still keep everything organized, I'm just not as meticulous about it now like I used to be!
