Time To Be Conscious of Sugar Intake

Last January, I was so happy about my blood chemistry results; almost all were in normal conditions in spite of the fact that it was just after the holidays when there's so much food. But yesterday, I was so sad because my FBS (fasting blood sugar) went over the maximum normal level. It should not be over 105 mg/dl, but mine was 122. Even the other indicators went overboard, like the cholesterol and uric acid levels. My main concern is the sugar level because it is hard to be a diabetic, although I still have a good control of it as indicated in the test. I am not yet diabetic. So it is time to be conscious again of what I am eating; also have to be active again, doing some 20 to 30 minutes of walking or cycling every morning. Are you conscious of what you are eating?

I avoid sugar as much as I can. I don't eat processed food and I don't drink sodas, even yogurt I only eat natural yogurt without sugar or edulcorant.

As we grow old, we become conscious of such health indicators. I think you are still young, but it is good to have it checked so you can avoid being diabetic. Just stick to a healthy diet and avoid too much sweets.

I'm very careful... my mom didn't take care of herself as a diabetic and she paid for it!

It really pays to be careful about our diet because diabetes is a lifestyle disease. So sad your mother has it.

I must be careful about my sugar intake too. I am not a diabetic but drink tea thrice a day.

I have a test last year so it is normal so far but I have to keep an eye of what I am taking now because it is hard to regret later.

I am sorry to hear that, I would be happy with 122 FBS since I am diabetic and am coming down from high sugars....hopefully with being conscious of them you can get it back to normal! I must eat low carb to take care of my numbers.

I agree, carbohydrates is the culprit; just be conscious of what you (me) are eating. It's a hard situation, I know it because my husband is diabetic too.
