We’ve Been Hacked!

How dare these scammers and hackers! Can’t they put their time to better use? Our Netflix account was hacked. We rarely use it, but our son and my brother recently suggested some series we would enjoy. We tried logging in, but couldn’t. I finally called Netflix a few minutes ago, and was told someone hacked our account and changed the language from English to Spanish. Why am I not surprised? Our account is all set now. The woman who helped me was so kind, helpful, and understanding. That Spanish speaking scammer got two free months of Netflix on us. I could contest the charges with AMEX, but it’s not worth my time. At least not today. Aside from that, I played golf this morning and had brunch at the club. I still stink at golf, but had such a good time. Now to relax and myLot!

I never thought about Netflix being hacked. Jeez, now you have to worry about that. I swear the online world has opened this Pandora's Box of scams.

I have an Amazon Prime account and I too do not use it The site keeps reminding me and recommends what shows to watch. Glad you got your account back.

It's starting again, I'm glad you were able to resolve your problem. Yesterday I got an email about a $198 charge to one of my accounts which I didn't initiate so I called Synchrony to let them know and now I have to wait 10 days for a new card. At least the charge did not go through. Whew.

3 feet on the table! i love the big chairs. you're right, the rates are low. but why pay at all if you can get it for free by all means? if caught, shrug it off and try someone or something else. that's how it seems to be now.

@hereandthere I hope I am the only one this happened to. We gave our son Netflix as a gift and pay for it. The helper told me his account was not hacked.

That was a planned shot for my brother's shoes which were all studded, but they can't be seen. It's wrong for people to do that, but we are lucky it didn't cost us much of anything.

On the one hand, you must be pitied because you are the victims. On the other hand, I can only admire the technical skills scammers have.

@DianneN They are lazy people who do not want to work, so they use their knowledge to "steal". They are not punished enough.

It's easy for them, obviously. I don't know why they don't use their knowledge for a real job instead of preying on innocent people.

Can they track down such people? Alas, my lawyer friend told me of a case where some gals embezzled $400,000 for a truck stop company. The gals lost their sailboats and Camaros and such like, but the DA would not prosecute them because he had too many more serious cases on his hands.

I doubt it, but it sure makes me aggravated. At least those gals lost what they had stolen and have learned their lesson. If I did that, I'd be behind bars for life!

Scammers and hackers are shiftless, criminals looking for a something 'free!' That's terrible, your account had been hacked:( Netflix needs to secure their customers accounts, a lot better. Beautiful photo!

@DianneN I have not watched Marcella but saw The Cleaner a long time ago. I liked it. When I wanted to turn the TV on for Netflix it would not go on and then finally got it on but it was Israeli TV and tried and tried to get Netflix and changed the batteries in the control thing that use to turn the TV on and nothing and then finally got Netflix. I do not know what happened. Yesterday it was fine.
