Feeding street animals – a kind act

I have been watching long time, a boy who comes in his bicycle and keep food for the dogs in a plate on road side (those who wander on street). On watching the bicycle approaching dogs are rushing towards him with much happiness. Hubby also shared same story, on his way back to home from office, there is a place where people feed cows. Once there was some left over chappati and he told me he will give the same to those cows instead of throwing the same in dustbin. I also become happy as I too do not like the wastage of food. After that incident I used to make fresh chappati for them because I realized he is too happy to feed the cows. Left over is rarely available with me and same time I don’t want to disappoint him. It is good to see someone is caring the street animals as well, isn’t it? Image from google

When my children were young, every day our tetrapack slim milk used to get over. I wondered for some time and then one day found my daughters feeding to a cat and her five kittens. Then I told them not to take those expensive packs but to get the regular milk and ask me so that I can give in controlled way. There are 4 street dogs who come to our apartment gates. They have got names like Jewel, Prince, Rancho and Karl by our apartment children and they are well fed.

Dogs don't need to much food. So with out little bit efforts they can get their food.

@anil02 Yes we can help them. But I think we should also have measures in place for controlling their population. They become a nuisance.

These speechless beings are also part of our eco system. It is out duty to care these. here in house it is tradition that first chappati is for cow. In these day condition of cow are not good one. People leaves useless animal on roads. They are eating plastic. These are also cause of some serious accidents. Loaf of cattle is problem of my city.

I am also making that way, first chappati for cows. It is dangerous for cows to eat from dustbin as there is so much plastic bags are disposed with this dustbin.

On the quiet we also feed the pigeons that we are not supposed to either and at the same time the other wild birds join in. Its rare to see a dog being fed here in the street as they are picked up right away. Its very kind of peoplel to feed animals that have no other way to feed themselves properly. Bless him.

Pigeons are regular visitors here and I keep grains on a bowl in our balcony. If I forgot they will come and make sound on that bowl, lol. So I become alert.

@Sreekala Oh how clever of them to do that. Pigeons here are considered a pest bird and not like they are supposed to be. You are really nice feeding them they are having a tough enough time already to survive.

@Sreekala @klyliePot that's right! and really it is pitiful to see dogs in the street... i am glad some people are taking care of them. we too, sometimes when we eat in a restaurant we take home the bones for the dogs. specially our favorite dogs in the neigborhood.

@Sreekala Yes, we have people here that feed the street cats. I used to do it and used to have trouble with my neighbors. That is sad that they would complain because there are people that want to help.

@Sreekala Because they were jerks but they could make as much noise as they wanted and that was ok with them. Here I just feed my cat because I do not want trouble from my neighbors. I want to live here. They have children and do not understand about animals.
