Princess Has Not Been Doing Well

I believe Princess has an ear infection. It is affecting her. She acts as if she is scared I will hurt her. Her eye on that same side seems not to see well, she is unsure of her gait and there is drainage from her ear.
The vet will see her tomorrow. Our old vet lives too far away.
We are still chasing parts for one car and another, it took Wal Mart Forever to change our tire.
Got a hose that the van needs for coolant.
I was tired after working yesterday. I ended up substituting as a para on the lifeskills bus. It goes to a town further west of here. Helps kids who cannot do well academically. It helps kids that have severe medical problems, too.
I was on the bus at 6:45 this morning. I want a nap before I go back. I made a delicious lunch.

@marguicha I think Princess has a sore throat. I had some chicken fat from a roast chicken and she likes that really well.

Sorry to hear about Princess, my dog Teddy had this happen, also. He was young at that time, so he felt better after being on antibiotics. I worked as a para for a while and loved it!

There is a lot to like about being a para. I can see that Princess feels better today, still sleeping a lot, but not so afraid of being touched.

@GardenGerty It's obvious that her pain is letting up. An ear infection is terrible, I've had one before. I'm so glad she's doing better:)

I am so sorry about Princess. I hope she feels better soon and I hope the car business gets sorted out soon so you do not have to continue to ride the bus.

Oh, I rode the bus as a paid position, to help out if the handicapped students had a problem. Yes, the cars are both going to do much better now.

I hope princess feels better soon ..i had a jack Russell that use to get ear infections alot she would slat her head to one side the vet would gives us antibiotics and ear wash ..so we could do it ourselves she hated it but felt much better afterwards..

Years ago I had cats that got ear mites. I imagine they will swab for them and check out what is causing the drainage.

Hopefully this veterinary trip will do the trick for her. I guess the laser treatment they gave her was both for calming and for pain.

I hope that the vet comes up with something to make her feel better. You are probably hurting more than she is!! Sending some hugs for the both of you!!

The vet did what I expected, from reading online. Clean the ear, give an exam, give antibiotics. She also received a steroid shot, which will reduce inflammation and then something I had never heard of, a cold laser treatment--it is to calm and also to relieve pain.

As an elderly cat, I think anything is pretty serious. I do hope it is an infection and nothing more.

They did a laser treatment along with everything else. Hubby did not ask about details, but when I researched online it is to help with pain and to make them calm. It does seem to have relieved some of her body pain. Hubby said it quieted and calmed her down really quickly. Have you ever had that for your family fur babies?

It had drainage, so I know it had to hurt. I am thinking her arthritis is hurting all over.

One of my students from last year attends this class this year. I took her over to transition last year, and it was a busy place. I think the caseload doubled.
