Busted Out Of That Joint!

This morning bright and early the heart doc came around and signed the discharge papers, I was already up and had everything packed and ready to go. I knew it would be a couple hours, still, till he got out so I gave him a wash off bath on top and he went to the bathroom and got the bottom, Tony was dressed and ready. Still no papers and an IV in his arm. He fell asleep waiting. It was an hour and a half later when he was released. He ate breakfast and I went down and got me something to eat too, I was sick to my stomach last night so I skipped dinner and I was starving. However, after we both ate we felt somewhat sick to our stomachs. I don`t think its anything that we caught but more about how heavy the food was there. I am sure I feed us healthier and better food at home. Tony only had one medication change and that was blood pressure meds, since they drained the fluid from his heart his BP is better, but, the doctor told me to keep the other one just in case, he said "do not throw those away, just put those away." Now, there was always excitement going on there, at this hospital. Every morning I would hear the baby was just born lullaby music, not once but many times, seems more babies are born in the morning at this one. And the runaways! That`s right, daily they would have a runaway, "Code white! 82 year old white female, green shirt, hospital gown and no underwear." Yes she was late Thursday`s runaway, but they caught her, poor thing. One complaint. The nursing staff wearing perfume. And, Tony found out its against regulations when he told his nurse practitioner about it. She was not happy. Anyways, I am back and hopefully not spending 3 1/2 days away in a hospital again. How is everyone, what have you all been doing? did I miss any mylot excitement?

I must have missed something, but glad Tony is home. So glad I don't have to work. I love perfume and wear it every day. I just spent $2608 on 5 new perfumes and that's not counting all the free ones I was given. However, wearing them in a hospital is not right, although I did wear them in my teaching career, but only light scents. We all did.

@LindaOHio He approved each spritz. Some he poo-pooed. I don't mess around. If I get the shakes over something, I have to get it. And I sure did get the shakes over these.

I still like the light scents, that is one reason I opened my own store, to make scent free and lightly scented, Although you ask for your to be stronger scented. I did read about your shopping trip.

@andriaperry They use those pressure adjusting ones here. The noise would drive me nuts while trying to sleep, not to mention the bed getting softer or harder.

@wolfgirl569 Tony hates those but this hospital did not have those, I was glad. I slept on that chair pull out bed thing, they are hard as rocks. I almost made a pallet in the floor.

My SIL is a nurse and PC at a nursing home. She's kind, gentle and funny. The elderlies look for her and love her. You are hard working and you love your residents. It's a very hard job to do. I wouldn't be able to do it. Do have a good rest at home. I hope you get some relief about your upset stomach

Strange, but I have met more women with exotic perfumes lately. The different smell, nice or not, really hit me.

I do not mind scents, it seems no one knows how to use them, just a dab on the skin is enough, dont bathe in it, wash you hair in it as well as your clothing.

I have kind of been MIA myself. In addition to people wearing perfume, there is scented deodorant, scented body wash, scented laundry products. All those fumes floating around are enough to make yous sick to your stomach as well. Bob did well on his hospital food at both places, but I really liked the food at the VA. They served a really nice homemade vegetable soup for one of his first meals.

The meals were heavy, rich and fatty, and they gave you so much, bu the choices were limited. A small salad was $7.00, a meat and 2 veggies was $5.50, most days I went with a couple veggies and ditched the meat and bread but it still was so heavy.

I know that you will both sleep so well tonight, comfy and cozy in your own beds, after a meal cooked by you, that isn't heavy and you don't end up with stomach aches. Perfume in a hospital is a huge no-no. Actually almost anywhere anymore its a big no-no, most workplaces have a scent-free policy in place. But hospitals, definitely no, and nurses of all people, should know better.

Glad to hear you both are home. I wonder why a nurse would wear perfume while working in a hospital. It makes no sense to me. It seems as though they would be aware of the allergies and such that it could stir up in the patients.

I think the one last night overhear Tony cussing about the smell and asking to to open the door for air, she switched with another nurse.

I'm glad to hear that Tony is home. Wearing perfume in the hospital can be very bothersome for the patients. I know it bothers me to be around someone if they are wearing a heavy scent. You haven't missed too much; and we're glad that you are out of the hospital as well.
