A new way to grocery shop

It's been awhile since I've written about reviews (at least reviews that aren't about movies), so I thought I would share my thoughts on - *Grocery store pick up service *Peanut butter blasts cereal and *Energy mix nut snack mix *Grocery Store Pick up* Recently with a headcold I had no energy, so I decided to take advantage of my local grocery store's "pick up" service. At least at this store - if you buy $50 or more - it's free. If it's under $50 like my order was it's an additional $5 fee. Seeing as I had a cold and really didn't want to walk around the store, I went for it. I easily found the items I wanted online including all of the brand and size options. I didn't like that you had to pay with a card. I would have rather given them cash when I arrived, but I can see also why they do it that way. So, it was fairly simple. I shopped online, paid for my order. By checking the website I was able to see when my order was ready. Drove to the store and pulled up in front of one of the designated parking spots. The sign directed me to call the store's number and someone was right out to load my groceries in my car. While it was nice and convenient - I see myself using this not too often. Good for situations like these that happen infrequently. On days where I'm well I don't mind the grocery shopping. *Energy Mix Nuts* Here's a Dollar Store food review. Packaged in a nice looking, large foil pouch - I came across the "Energy Mix Nuts". Seeing as I was out shopping and could use a snack I thought why not for $1. So, the blend was supposed to have - Walnuts, Sesame Sticks, (both of which I love) and Almonds, and Peanuts. What wasn't clearly stated on the label was that these are mildly honey roasted. Now for some reason I totally missed the fact that there were peanuts in there - so imagine my surprise when I opened the pouch and... you guessed it. Mostly peanuts and sesame sticks. So I re-read the package and sure enough peanuts were listed in the text, but the picture was predominantly featuring walnuts. Still not bad. I would buy it again. I just wish there were a way for companies to not lead you to think there would be more of the expensive nuts in there. *Peanut Butter Blasts* cereal Finally we have peanut butter blasts cereal. The box looked so very tasty that I bought it *in spite of the fact that I don't much care for breakfast cereal* . So, these are like mini-wheats coated in chocolate peanut butter flavoring. They are delicious but I highly recommend letting the milk soak in them. Probably not the healthiest, but sure is tasty. Photo is mine of the cereal

I have only ordered online for delivery, but see where the pickup would come in handy. Thanks for the reviews. I don't eat much out of a box these days.

Thanks for reading. :-) Yeah, this particular grocery store didn't have delivery... Like Gill was saying, looks like advantages to both ways.

I was thinking about getting a Schwans delivery order since if it is your first time ordering you get 50 percent off. They do have good food. My grandparents had their ice cream once at Christmas time, and I remember how good it was.

I haven't tried the grocery pick up before but probably will one day. We did try the peanut butter shredded wheat cereal and my husband didn't really care for it. Thanks for sharing your views on these products and services.

@FayeHazel I eat only a few kinds of cereal. My hubby is the cereal eater here. He thought it was too sweet. That is one of the reasons I wouldn't like it.

I have to pass on all of it, well not the grocery pickup. I'm hoping my Wal-Mart does it soon. I'm allergic to peanuts, so those items are a definite NOT.

@FayeHazel Yes, it does. Even favorite candy bars, which I don't eat anymore, have a warning on them that the bar was processed in the same plant as those with peanuts.

I just realized that my 2 food items included peanut butter.... wow, that must be a hard allergy to have. Seems a lot of stuff bears the warning.

That cereal sounds pretty good, is the peanut butter and chocolate on the inside or just swirled on the outside? I have never tried the pick up service before but I do buy my toilet paper and paper towels online and let them deliver for free lol

@FayeHazel I figure when we are running low I always end up spending more than I have to if I go to the store so I just have it on reorder online. Works great.

At first I thought the peanut butter would be on the inside of the cereal... turns out, it's like mini wheats with peanutbutter and chocolate on the outside. I like your idea with the tp and paper towels

@cintol Oh cool. I might have to look into that. I know I tend to buy the mega pack of tp - (because it's cheaper per roll) but this might be the best bet anyway

@FayeHazel I guess when I see people ordering groceries online is that they would be delivered to your home and then you do not have to go out at all if not feeling good. Feel better soon.

Never heard of that cereal. My husband would probably really like it. As for grocery delivery around here, most of the services I ever see is you order online and then someone will come deliver to you. Wish they would put them away.

I haven't tried a grocery store pick up or even store delivery. As were picky about our fruits and meats. Plus the stores right out back. So even if sick we go if its needed. Im glad you didnt have any issues doing it though

It's nice to pick certain of things, yourself. I agree. I didn't do individual produce, but I do wonder if they have a way for you to specify - like bananas degree of ripeness etc.... Happy your store is close by

Many stores do this order online and pick up service. Walmart and Lowes are two I know about. I tried the one at Lowes. It does beat walking around and if it's a heavy item they do all the carrying...right to your car!

I thought about trying Walmart's service, but... sometimes I like walking the store, at least its a little extra exercise. I can see where at Lowe's that could be a real bonus though

I did not experience here in my country to order online for food because I am far from the city.Only when I am overseas I always order online in the grocery nearby and have them deliver in our house.

We know several using delivery services for all of their food items, including the frozen things they want! What a great thing this is for those not able to get out.

I have seen the Peanut Butter Blasts cereal for $1.99 at the 99 Cents Store but passed. I don't like peanut butter flavored food except for actual peanut butter.
