Did This Just Happen?

Last week my sister and I headed out to investigate a source for fabric remnants. I had learned of this opportunity from someone I met on Facebook. We had an hour to drive....then between the GPS and the directions provided by my friend we pulled into the driveway. The building looked like an unlikely place...but we saw the door with the awning....so we knew we were in the right place. Minutes later we had been escorted into a cutting room where we were invited to help ourselves to the fabric pieces in two large cardboard boxes. We exchanged glances and started the selection process. I was looking for a large variety (I need about 1000 different prints in a 2.5 inch square) for a charm quilt. My sister was looking for things she could use together in a quilt. Within half an hour we were back in the car headed for home...with disbelieving grins on our faces. All we could say was Wow! We will go back. Arriving home we sorted through our haul. Did the math.....and realized we had just purchased approximately $800.00 worth of premium quilting cottons for the paltry sum of $14.00. Have you found any unbelievable deals lately?

Was this part of an estate sale? I mean, it seems like you got away with highway robbery!

No. It was at a warehouse where fabrics are cut for quilts....fat quarters etc. This shows a little more of our haul.

We walked out of there like the cat that had just finished the cream. Grinning like fools and asking each other if this was for real.

We had so much fun. We felt like a couple of toddlers given the tub of ice cream and a spoon with no supervision!

That is an incredible deal. I won't ask where you're going to store all these pieces.

I folded mine down to fit in a shoebox....my sisters needed a boot box. Fabric? I can always find room.

@JudyEv I went after small pieces, my sister wanted larger...my largest piece is at least 2 meters....her (my sister) average piece is probably a quarter meter.

Wow, that was lucky for you. Do you use unwanted clothes sometimes? I've just chucked out a whole lot of those as I'm not good at salvaging anything from them.

I have repurposed clothing into doll clothes and quilts. Right now I have an abundance of fabric.
