Did you know there are 7,500 varieties of apples grown throughout the world? That is crazy! I had no idea there were so many different types of apples. I only thought there were a few like red delicious, granny smith, and golden delicious. Here is a page showing a lot of different types of apples and their characteristics. http://www.pickyourown.org/applevarietiestochoose.htm What is your favorite type of apple?

I love fuji apples - always crisp and sweet! My daughter loves pink lady. Yes, there are many different apples - we try out the different ones whenever we see them at the store. I seem to never buy red delicious anymore (which I grew up on) - they can be mushy and unflavorful.

I don't think I have had fuji or pink lady before. My favorite is golden delicious.

@DianneN I never thought of "different" apples as a kid - except red or green. There are so many options available now!

@AngelizaQT Most of the time they are green but turn brown in sunlight. You can find them along the roads where horses travel.

I like Gold and Delisous which is one we buy often in my house. They are not to big and tend be soft enough for the kids to eat and prefect snack size for them.

I like the softness of them as well.

I like Johnathan apples the best. Easy to eat because they are not as hard as other apples.

@AngelizaQ The Jonathan apple is a medium-sized sweet apple and it is a juicy one too.

Anything but the green ones. Hate the green apples.

So you prefer a sweeter apple rather than the tart green ones. Hmm, the only green one I like is golden delicious. It's my favorite. I don't really care for any of the reds.
