Thinking Outside The Box

Sometimes you just have to think outside the box. Use your imagination and do something different. Be an idea maker. I am always l looking for a different way to say or do things. That's how I began writing books for reluctant readers. I taught a large group of reluctant readers a few years ago and realized that there were virtually no books for them to read at their level. The books that were written at their level of reading were too babyish for them. These kids were middle school not two and three year olds. They needed something to read that caught their interest. Something that was in their age groups. I began with stories about friendship and evolved into boy/girl relationships. Right now I am experimenting with historical books that will teach them a little about history. Thinking outside the box has given me a new career that I love. Just look around and fill a need. Do something different. You will be glad you did.
