I'm watching a news report on FOX 11 news here in California about people who go to India to have their Othorpetic Surgery. They've said that their hospitals are like 4 star hotels and the care it great. And of course you get it at 1/3 of the cost you would get in the US. What do you think about this if you're in the US and if you're from India whats you're view on India becoming the "worlds doctor"?

The care in India is a lot cheaper, that's the main reason U.S. patients go there. I don't know if it's state=run or private or a combination of both. In Canada they don't have a lot of advanced (expensive) equipment, but they don't really have to, they send patients to the U.S. if they don't have the euipment needed. I think something like 2/3 of the people in Canada lives within 100 miles of the U.S. border.

well thats true..the care is good, but tis something that should be bothering both the governments...see for someone to pay around 10 dollars maynot be very big, but in india, if that same amount is calculated it comes to around 45,00,000 rs..and for majority of indians its quite a big amount and so many people may not afford it...well so the health care sys here is not proper, but who cares....well its disheartening to see that...commercialisation of health

They probably value thier care more there. Especially since coming from a poverish place makes you humble. Sometimes it's all about the money here in America. And unfortunately people suffer!
